Antiquarian Note on a 1877 Plowing Find
In 1877 William Ray plowing on S. B. Thomas’s northwest farm uncovered two brass kettles buried bottom up with a chain beneath them. The seven and five gallon kettles remain, found near a former canoe landing by the lake where the prairie lies. A canoe once found by Mr. Landover was embedded in the ground.

Death of Mrs. Mary Wonder Linked to Blue Springs
Word comes of the death of former resident Mrs. Mary Wonder of Blue Springs Nebraska. She died on Friday and was the widow of Enos Wonder who once owned the local woolen mill. Her maiden name was Lantz and she was sister to the late Mrs. A J Wonder.

Triplet Ewes Put Fleece On Weighty Milestone
F T Miller of Ridge township reports an eight year old Shropshire ewe raised triplets this year with no help. On Monday the three lambs weighed over 100 pounds each and the wool from the flock brought about $21, averaging near 98.5 pounds per lamb. Miller invites others with triplets to contact him.
