A new Colonel Crawford Troop of Girl Scouts forms with about 30 girls in three patrols under Miss Jessie Walters. Sponsored by the Carey Schools Parent-Teacher Association with Mrs Burson Mrs Arnholt and Mrs Huffman as patrons. The Ohio Public Health Association distributes 900,000 Christmas health seals for the 24th annual sale opening November 28 and closing December 24. Proceeds aim to raise 400,000 for tuberculosis prevention and control in 1931. John W. Bricker, chairman, notes tuberculosis remains the leading killer of Americans ages 15 to 26.

A West street couple Mr and Mrs Levi Greene celebrated fifty years of marriage with a surprise gathering. Rev J Turrell renewed their vows. Gifts included a dinner set and gold money. Mr Greene born 1859 near Circleville. wife Arabele Donelson born Hancock county near Mt. Blanchard. Married in Findlay with Judge Clingerman officiating.
The Bucyrus business men and city council collaborate to make the city one of the most gayly deported in north central Ohio. Sycamore must act to compete with live business centers and seize the post Christmas opportunity.
The official board of Memorial Evangelical church will meet Friday evening at 7 30 at the church. A E Constien presiding.
The local P. A. will hold a meeting Monday evening in the high school auditorium. An old fashioned spelling contest is planned with fourth and sixth grade pupils spelling against their parents. A social hour will follow. The public is invited.

The Carey Merchants suffered a 19-0 defeat as the Birmingham Ads of Toledo beat them on the high school grounds. Findlay Maroons travel to Carey for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff Sunday, with Carey aiming to avenge a prior Ix-Hi loss and fielding a strong lineup.
Miss Henrietta Reynolds daughter of Mr and Mrs M C Reynolds of W Findlay street married Cyril Brown son of Joseph Brown of Carey Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical parsonage in Upper Sandusky. Rev T Hoover performed the ceremony with Mr and Mrs Reynolds and daughter Celia witnessing. The bride wore tan crepe with harmonizing accessories. The couple will live with the Reynolds family for the present.
William Greek quietly celebrated his 90th birthday Tuesday at his Carey home and is reported to be in good health. The article notes he may be the oldest resident in Carey and invites speculation on that status.
The Knights of Pythias lodge purchased the United Brethren church at the corner of Patterson and South streets and plans to use it as their future home.
The Pythian Sisters present See You Later a two night play at the high school auditorium on Thursday and Friday evenings November 13 and 14.
Earl Green Post American Legion plans Armistice Day events next Tuesday at 11 AM taps at key street intersections. A 2:30 PM high school football game between Carey Merchants and the Tiffin Cornells will raise funds for the Legion, followed by an 8 PM card party at the Catholic hall with 50 cent admission.
Last Thursday a large crowd gathered for an ox roast and Halloween celebration. An east side stand near First National Bank hosted the carving, with 3600 sandwiches and 40 gallons of coffee served. A masked parade drew the main attention as judges distributed numerous prizes across many costumes. The business district glowed with colored lights and orange black decorations as revelry continued.
The annual K of C banquet will occur Thursday night at 7 00 pm with a town speaker and a strong program. The event moved from Pilgrim House to the parish hall for the venue.
Carey Chapter No 159 Royal Masons will hold its annual meeting Friday evening November 7 to elect officers and act on other time honored matters for the lodge.
