Wyandot County Engineer A. J. Moon told Carey Kiwanis members that the county budget cannot maintain 16.55 miles of U S 23 and SR 15 once the state relocations are completed. He warned U S 23’s ties and a future northward extension near Toledo will affect Carey, Findlay, and Fostoria, urging retention of current routes. Moon noted expected growth south from Toledo to Dayton aided by the St. Lawrence Seaway, with public support for keeping Routes 23 and 5 in the state system.
