Missionary Meetings Review Reports From Bowling Green
The United Brethren church Woman Association met Tuesday for a special session hearing delegates to the Bowling Green convention. Led by Rev J Sheller and Mrs H J Smith the group discussed Philippine Islands worship, Christianizing natives, and classroom education. A second report came from Samantha Goodmiller. The Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society of the United Evangelical church met Friday with Mrs John Black presiding and planned May meetings.

Last Thursday evening the I. O. C. F. Hall hosted a banquet after the Blue and Red Contest in which fourteen new members joined. The lodge entertained their wives and the Rebeckahs. T. W. McClure gave a welcome address.Charles Dame Miss Sarah Mann and Master George Constien gave recitations. Miss Lecta Long played piano, Glenn and Edna Stroup performed a piano duet, Florence Smith and Mary Phillips played another duet. Edna Stroup sang a vocal solo and Mr. and Mrs. George Chesebrough performed a duet. A quartet including Mrs. D. C. Henry Mrs. George Ash Mr. W. J. Baker and Mr. J. E. Myers contributed two selections.

Pilgrimage Floods Carey Shrine for Our Lady of Consolation
Thousands flocked to Carey amid arrivals from Lima Toledo Columbus Cleveland and New York for the Our Lady of Consolation pilgrimage. More than 2 800 filled the church basement for Solemn High Mass as priests and altar boys led a grand procession attended by Protestants seeking instruction and 900 joining the Confraternity. Weather favorable and shops busy with post cards stamps and meals, pilgrims planned return for August 16.

Death of Mrs August Pethe After Long Illness
Mrs August Pethe died at her daughter’s home following months of illness. Born Poline Gillian in Belgium on June 3 1881 she came to the United States in 1850 with her parents. Survived by husband seven children including Frank Joseph and William Pethe two sisters and one brother. Requiem High Mass held at Our Lady of Consolation Church with services later at St Nicholas Frenchtown.
