Easter week end gatherings filled homes across Findlay and nearby towns. Families hosted relatives from Ada Carey Tiffin Columbus and Philadelphia with celebrations at multiple addresses and St Francis College student Dawn Dunn joining relatives.
Easter guests at Mrs. William Howard's house in Upper Sandusky included Tine Wezinger, Tonia Inglett, Gail Wenzinger, Christopher Higgins, Duane Wenzinger, Douglas Went Eng, Michael Dible, Robert Wentling, Ralph Wentling, Randy Wentling, Johnie Michael Wenzinger, Tom Joe Wenzinger, Earl Gene Wenzinger, Mr. and Mrs. William Howard and family, and Mrs. Roy Howard. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Savidge and children Kenneth and Cohnie, along with Mrs. W. L. Gatchel and others.
The Carey Conservation Association held an Easter Eye Hunt on their grounds Saturday after noon March 25 as part of the Easter weekend. Winners aged 0-12 were Debbie Fredritz, Jack Baur, Annie Bland, Mark Fredritz, Laura Welly, Jon Twining, Donna Fredritz, Janice Kromer, Cheryl Musgrave, Debbie Kelbley, Thomas Kromer, Mark Mewhorter, Mark Garn, Diane Myers, Cindy Williams, Sue Vaughn, Tina Stover, Tom Carn, Nancy Kramer.
Thieves were active Monday night in Wharton with three entries reported to the Wyandot County Sheriff's Department. Small sums were stolen from two places, none from Bert Corbin's Barbershop, and about three dollars in change from Brown's Grocery. Two thefts in Mount Blanchard were also reported with no filings yet. Investigations continue.
Blaine Lafontaine of Rt J Carey and a senior at New Ridge High School won a $750 cash award at the 11th annual National Machinery Citizenship Competition in Tiffin. Fifty seven seniors competed for the $5,000 total prize. Blaine is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Silverius Lafontaine.
Terese Lasser founder of the Reich to Recovery Foundation of New York City will lecture at Wy andot Memorial Hospital Guild Room on Monday April 3 at 7 30 pm. Her program aids post mastectomy patients with a fitness and emotional adjustment system endorsed by over 250 hospitals worldwide.
Final and distributive account and vouchers of Delbert H Sanford as executor of the Harry D Sanford estate filed and suspended March 3 1967. Fourth account and vouchers of Oscar H Karg as guardian of Clara F Baughman filed and suspended March 6 1967.
Carey Elementary announces pre registration and clinic for next year’s kindergarten entrants and first graders who did not attend kindergarten. April 12 1967 registration times split by last name A through M 9 11 am and N through Z 1 3 pm. Health records and birth certificates required. Wyandot County Health nurse will attend. Children entering kindergarten must be five by Oct 31 1967. Kindergarten to first grade registration on April 18 1967 with same name based time slots.
PTA sponsored Fun Festival fills Carey High School with a 5 PM buffet, midway games in the Colonel Crawford Building, a country store, bunny booth, dance in the kindergarten room, and a movie program in the high school auditorium. Tickets sold for all events. Local volunteers organize candy, pies, toys, and more.
Health news lists multiple area patients admitted to Blanchard Valley Mercy or Wyandot Memorial hospitals and several discharges. Names include David Boden Carey and Paul McMurren Wharton with hospital stays noted. Other entries show admissions at Mercy Hospital Tiffin and Hardin Memorial Kenton, with room numbers and dates.
A notice calls Legionaires in the South District to attend a full day Spring Conference in Upper Sandusky this Sunday.
Barbara Hoen Hoepf rolled a 261 in the Idyettes League at Mt Idy Lanes on March 22, achieving the highest women’s league game at the venue. Her 594 series totaled 10 strikes in the 261 game.
Carey Police report recent bad checks and vandalism in Carey. Checks totaling 3165 passed at Burson Hill Inc Bob s Citgo and Fetter s Variety Store with funds short. Also a vandalism incident at Siberling storage plant with 17 windows broken by rocks near the C O Railroad.
Patrolmen Jack Orians and Harold Doppler withdrew their resignations on Sunday and returned to duty this week. Last week three officers had announced their resignations.
