A large congregation attended a Monday afternoon Y M C A meeting at United Evangelical Church. The Ridge Quartette led the song service, Earl Williams chaired, Miss Nellie Philips spoke on Gods Love, Jed Gibbs gave a lengthy address on Getting Right with God, followed by a testimony session highlighting recent converts and hopeful zeal.
Sunday Catholic churches nationwide joined in a prayer for peace in Europe. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed all day and in the afternoon school children gathered at Our Lady of Consolation church for a special service of prayer.
Various Wyandot county items include project delays, a contract award for an infirmary disposal plant to Ashley Co of Chicago, a death in Columbus after an appendicitis operation, a jail lodging for Dewey Bland for burglary, local seacoast telephone claim and Lincoln highway notes, county road bids, a young girl’s carbolic acid incident, a curious farm sale suit, juror lists, and a Nevada News seance report with details of a trance and clairvoyance demonstrations.

Lawrence Motter and Miss Elda Mae Vogel of Wharton were married Tuesday at 11 in the Methodist Episcopal parsonage on South Eighth street by Rev. G. W. Vorhis. Motter, a carpenter, is son of Mrs. E Motter of Carey. Vogel is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Vogel of Wharton and was an operator at the Mutual Telephone exchange. They will reside in Wharton.
Findlay preacher Rev W Elmer Bailey will conduct a song service Friday evening at the United Evangelical church. An invitation is extended to all. Advertise in The Times.
The West End school building hosted an Easter party for first through third graders on Friday afternoon. Miss Adah Nichols and Miss Elsie Shop planned the event as a reward for punctual students, with about forty visitors enjoying a bunny hunt and refreshments. Serves were assisted by Lucy Laughin Lydia Heek Martha Winder Jane Spencer Mildred Gunther and Margaret Ann Pepple.
Washington Gladden of Columbus registered at the Galt House on Saturday while en route to Pandora. The Congregational minister and noted lecturer and writer is engaged to deliver lectures before the Mennonites at Pandora.
The ground was briefly covered by a frail sugar snow Monday morning and had melted away by midday. Residents noted it as the only acceptable type of snow if any must fall.
A review notes three shorts: two part drama The Making of Him and A Gypsy Madcap, plus the Biograph comedy A Regular Rip. It highlights tone and performances while signaling varied film types in a single program.
A preliminary church meeting discussed a tabernacle to be erected on the hitching ground off North Street with services starting Easter Sunday. Evangelists from Winona Lake will supervise erection and daily offerings will cover expenses. A 1200 seat venue with a 250 voice chorus is planned.
Mrs Brea Ronwalt hosted a social bridge gathering with East Greeny and white decorations. After the fray, guests enjoyed supper in Vusses Blanche and Elsie Isariron, Trere Cullet and Bertha shitferd, with a long list of attendees including Mrs Ross Spences, Wes JE Nichols, Mrs SB oGillet, Mrs OJ A Gubbs, and many others.
Beal law vote in Toledo misreported as Carey voting. Reports claimed the town went ary with 129 votes, but this was ungrounded. Several readers contacted the Morning Republican to verify the item. Finlay Republican.
Elias Steen of west of Findlay killed himself hours after his son Oscar died by suicide months earlier. The rope halter, tree limb, and the same site point to a deliberate act likely linked to grief. Coroner A N Smith ruled it a death by own action and noted possible health factors. Steen, born 1849, leaves a widow and son C M Steen. Funeral held at his home with Rev W S Culp presiding. Burial in Maple Grove cemetery. Community extends deep sympathy.
The Spring Grove Cemetery Company hires Myron Greek to manage the cemetery under its supervision. A house of 1525 feet has been built near the center of the tract and Greek will live there and assist visitors and care for graves.
Mr and Mrs Fo Livingse Raph Livingston Mis leus Lowery Miss Mary Ranger and Miss Hager Livingston attended a Saturday meeting of Wirandot county rural school teachers at Topper Sanda High School. The objective was to plan for an exhibit at the county fair in the fall.
Findlay Father Fish and Father Athony gave an illustrated talk on American history in Findlay Monday evening. They presented the same lecture recently at the parish hall and will deliver the second talk in the series on history tonight.
A meeting of all interested parties will be held at the Ritchie cemetery next Sunday March 27 at one o clock to make arrangements for spring improvements. By order of the President.
