Lost Apples Behind Gingerbread In Morse Household

Bridget the housekeeper admits she does not know where the four big red apples went after a man brought them yesterday. Mrs Morse suspects the storeroom hold clues, while Bridget jokes that her gingerbread loaf would be atop the apples if her stomach could bear the strain.

Death of Mrs Christina Beis in Crawford township

Mrs Christina Beis died at the home of her son George W Beis in Crawford township on Wednesday at 1230 AM from infirmities of old age. Born Christina Aulion in Eden Germany she was 90 years 2 months 16 days. She married Henry Vogel in 1840. eight children were born, two survive Henry Vogel of Longley and Mrs Chris Sipher of Whitehouse. After Charles Beis marriage in 1856 three more children survive George W Beis Crawford township Elizabeth Conaghan and Benjamin Beis. Funeral held Trinity Reformed church McCutchenville Friday at 1060 conducted by Rev C E Ewing. Interment Methodist cemetery McCutchenville. Attendants from distance listed. Flowers donated by numerous relatives.

Ohio House Passes Wilbur Bill for County Experiment Farms

The Ohio House approved a measure to establish an experiment farm in each county. A county bond issue would fund land purchases and equipment, with financing limited to two mills on property valuation and a one-fifth mill cap per year. Wilbur, a farmer and stockman, proposes eighty-acre tracts to share soil analysis and pest control knowledge with local farmers.

Easter Week at Methodist Episcopal Church

Land sales blot Ridge township transfers two farms

Last week George Wrickle sold his eighty acre Ridge township farm to Hosea Tong Jr for 8000 dollars. Tong also sold twenty acres at the south end to Sherman Esterley for 1650 dollars and twenty acres at the north end to J A Diedrick for 9200 dollars.
