Bridget the housekeeper admits she does not know where the four big red apples went after a man brought them yesterday. Mrs Morse suspects the storeroom hold clues, while Bridget jokes that her gingerbread loaf would be atop the apples if her stomach could bear the strain.
Mrs Christina Beis died at the home of her son George W Beis in Crawford township on Wednesday at 1230 AM from infirmities of old age. Born Christina Aulion in Eden Germany she was 90 years 2 months 16 days. She married Henry Vogel in 1840. eight children were born, two survive Henry Vogel of Longley and Mrs Chris Sipher of Whitehouse. After Charles Beis marriage in 1856 three more children survive George W Beis Crawford township Elizabeth Conaghan and Benjamin Beis. Funeral held Trinity Reformed church McCutchenville Friday at 1060 conducted by Rev C E Ewing. Interment Methodist cemetery McCutchenville. Attendants from distance listed. Flowers donated by numerous relatives.
The Ohio House approved a measure to establish an experiment farm in each county. A county bond issue would fund land purchases and equipment, with financing limited to two mills on property valuation and a one-fifth mill cap per year. Wilbur, a farmer and stockman, proposes eighty-acre tracts to share soil analysis and pest control knowledge with local farmers.

O F Elder of Crestline and Lavina Beck were married at Tiffin Saturday morning by Rev A C Shuman. The couple traveled to Detroit for a two week honeymoon and will reside at 412 Toleman Street Crestline after April first.
Rev. Henry Spellmeyer D D L L D bishop of the Methodist Episcopal church born in New York City November 25 1847 died at Atlantic City March 12 1910 He was elected bishop at the Los Angeles general conference in 1904 receiving 612 votes the largest ever cast in the church He was leading the New Jersey conference at his death
Sunday Schools in Crawford Ridge and Salem townships plan an April Carey convention. The county convention will be held here on May 8 and 9.
Mrs George Huff of East Main street thanks friends for a splendid post card shower on her birthday March 20 and wishes each giver may one day receive the same delightful favor.
On Week's Vacation J W Braun of Louisville Kentucky spent a week visiting his parents Mr and Mrs Ferdinand Braun. Braun serves as secretary of the National Order of Foresters a fraternal organization headquartered in Louisville.
L. B. Snyder of Ridge township will hold a sale on April 21. He plans to move to this city and will be ready to operate a traction ditcher about May 1.
Rev W Elmer Bailey of United Evangelical Church preached last Sunday morning using the text Supposing, a word found only three times in the New Testament. The sermon aimed to provoke thought.
President Taft will be guest of honor at a luncheon in Ada for the fortieth annual commencement of Ohio Northern University hosted by President and Mrs. Albert Smith on June 3.
Monday night the city council heard reports and approved several payments to local workers and vendors. The water course committee backed constructing a drain on Muncie Street, while bids for a jail cell from Champion Iron Works were tabled pending further bids.
The church announces a full Easter program with Sunday school at 9:00 a.m. and preaching at 10:15 a.m. including baptisms and church membership reception. An Easter entertainment by the school and choir is planned for 7:00 p.m. Prayer meetings occur next Wednesday and Thursday with Bible study on the Cross.
Mr and Mrs Gustave Kummerer of south of McCutchenville attended a funeral Sunday via a relative death. Their son Gustave and daughter Miss Elizabeth also attended the funeral which took place Monday morning at St Josephs church at the local place.
Last week George Wrickle sold his eighty acre Ridge township farm to Hosea Tong Jr for 8000 dollars. Tong also sold twenty acres at the south end to Sherman Esterley for 1650 dollars and twenty acres at the north end to J A Diedrick for 9200 dollars.
