Well Shot Drilling Ends With No Oil at Brown Farm
A well drilled by William Long on the Brown farm north of town was blasted Monday at noon. Two hundred quarts of explosive produced smoke, dust, and rock, but no oil. Later, fourteen feet of oil and salt water were found among mud. investors and observers from Findlay and Marion watched, awaiting further results.

On Monday night inspectors praised the company for its showing led by Wallace and officers Wallace 1st Lieutenant Benjamin Kitzler and 2nd Lieutenant Red Shoemuber.
