Death of Mrs Low Stone in Ohio migration from Kentucky

Mrs Low Stone died Monday at 2:00 a m at her home on North Vance Street after four weeks of pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the home and the body sent to Ivyton Kentucky for burial. She was 51 years 11 months old, born in Magoffin County Kentucky, survived by three sons and two daughters. The family moved from Magoffin to Ohio four weeks ago, after earlier onion farming near McGuffey failed.

Tucked in old papers found during barn teardown on BE Findlay street is a September 1904 Ladies Home Journal featuring Mary Newhard daughter of Postmaster Herbert Newhard as one of the nation’s 12 most beautiful girls. The issue notes her portrait in Other Days of a Carey Times issue. Sue Mary is now Mrs. Charles Stine.

Clergy to Attend Summer School at Garrett Divinity School

Rev. Paul R. Clouser and Rev. Joseph B. Shellhaas will stay at Garrett Divinity School in Evansville Illinois during July to take a theology course. They will return to preach the first three Sundays after training. Garrett Divinity School sits on Northwestern University campus and offers a lakefront study and vacation setting.

Stork Sends Two Births Near Town and Kenton

A nine pound daughter arrived for Mr and Mrs Firmin Pahl one mile east of town on Sunday morning. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Hugh Showe of Kenton on Monday February 25, Mrs Showe formerly Miss Irene Pahl. An eight hundred fourteen pound daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Edward Albus three miles northeast of Carey on Sunday morning.

Appendicitis Operation In Tiffin For Theodore Myers

Theodore Myers Cr. of west of town was taken to Mercy Hospital Tiffin Saturday forenoon and underwent an appendectomy. He traveled by Sutter's ambulance, accompanied by his parents Mr and Mrs J Tr Myers and his brother Harry Myers. The operation was successful and he is recovering nicely.

Bicycle Stolen From Shed On Patterson Street

A bicycle was stolen from a shed at Patterson Street. Thief removed the shed door lock at night or the following day, then the bicycle disappeared.

Village Council Minutes Open Meeting Review

The village council met in regular session with Mayor presiding. Bills totaling numerous salaries and utilities were approved for February and March, with authorizations for library and town hall costs. Citizens protested ditch blockage by railroads, and a fire department equipment request was referred to committees. Mayor's February report filed. balance due to village $450. Council adjourned to March 25.

Freshmen Class Hosts Clever Carey High Chapel Program

A chapel program at Carey High School featured an artificially installed radio imitation of popular stars Jack and Gene. Freshmen home room seven presented the event with devotional exercises and a playful, clever atmosphere. The 1925 Freshmen class shows a promising start at Carey High School.

Lutheran Mission Society Meeting At Church Parlor

The Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society of Christ Lutheran Church held its regular monthly meeting in the church parlors on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Fred Powell conducted devotionals, Mrs. Byron Ogg led in prayer, and Mrs. I. L. Culler read about Dr Mary Bear’s orphan children in India. The lesson from Friends of Africa was led by Mrs. C. C.
