Corner stone addition planned for Calvary Lutheran church

The Times reports a $40 000 addition to Calvary English Evangelical Lutheran church at Berteau and Keeler Avenues in Chicago. Pastor Rev E Luther Spaid presided at March 3 service. The project includes new organ by M P Moiler Co at 3500 and aims to expand Sunday school and events with a future auditorium and total plant valued at about 1 590 000.

Carey Loses In Sectional Round At Lima

Harold Graves notes Carey was eliminated in the second round by St. John's High School of Delphos. Carey defeated Sycamore in the first round, then beat county champions before losing to the tournament winner. The game stayed tight early, Carey led late, and Sycamore tied, before Ludwig fouled out and Carey pulled ahead 12 to 8.

Earl Green Post of the American Legion cleared several hundred dollars from a minstrel show held Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Catholic Hall. Large crowds attended both nights and praised the programs, with the boys displaying talent and earning congratulations for a successful undertaking.

Millionaire Builder Dible Forges Homes Near Careys Frontier

Napoleon W. Dible of Kansas City, born in Springville, has built and sold hundreds of houses for years. He once bought 65 acres on Kansas City's edge and developed it with homes, a project finished about a dozen years ago. In 1923 he constructed more than a hundred houses and sold them.

Three Alarms of Fire Reported in City Last Week

The fire department was paged three times last week. At the W. C. Anderson residence on Findlay street the home suffered serious damage. A chimney fire at Mrs. Thomas Long’s Frederick street residence damaged wallpaper. Sparks from a chimney started a roof fire at James Greiner’s Ardmore Addition home. Jay Long extinguished it with a bucket before arrival.

Fire Chief Praises New Truck After Muddy Run

Fire Chief No Wonder lauds the new fire truck's efficiency after a Saturday call to James Greiner's house. The engine plowed through mud with wheels in the muck up to the axles, despite the challenging conditions. The truck returned with a muddy coat and required extensive cleaning to restore its shine.

Mr and Mrs Willer Move to Hazelton Pennsylvania

Mr and Mrs Howard Willer and their sons left Saturday afternoon for Hazelton Pennsylvania. They traveled by car with Mr Miller, Carey high school agriculture instructor, who has bought a farm near Hazelton, his former home. He and his family will be greatly missed by many friends.

Four Square campaign opens with strong Sunday school turnout

Last Sunday marked the launch of the Four Square campaign as adult Bible classes across the county enrolled. The Men's Fellowship Class at the Methodist Sunday school registered attendance 200 percent higher than the same Sunday last year.

Moving to Own Farm by Charles Niederkohr

Charles Niederkohr, long resident on the Bert Black farm west of Adrian, has purchased the Phil Kinney farm a mile east of Adrian and will soon take possession. He has made improvements and is building a second barn. The Black farm remains unrented.
