An extra large map of the world was placed in the upper corridor of the high school building. It clearly shows the major theaters of the current world conflict and is available for study by students from all grades to stay informed on geography.

Dr D Bruce Young of First Lutheran Shelby will preach at Christ Lutheran Wednesday March 11 in an exchange with Rev M Paul Paetznick who will lead the Shelby Lutheran parish that evening. Paetznick then preaches at First Lutheran Findlay Thursday evening while Rev W D Bradley of Findlay conducted services in Carey Wednesday evening last week.

Residents in Carey could not view the lunar eclipse Monday due to heavy clouds. Sky conditions are expected to be clearer on August 25, offering a chance to witness the event.

Cleveland chorus to join orchestra for Kodaly Te Deum

The Cleveland Philharmonic Chorus of 250 voices under Dr. Charles D. Dawe will join the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall for performances of Kodaly Te Deum. They will also perform Borodin Prince Igor dances with chorus and orchestra in the program's second half. One Hundred Submit to Army Exam at Columbus

One hundred Wyandot county men traveled by three buses to Columbus for pre induction army examinations. A 25 man group received a local screen at the county health office in Upper Sandusky prior to the Columbus tests.

Possibilities of a Defense Course in Carey

Community defense training may start in Carey for boys aged 16 to 25. The proposed 15 hour per week program would focus on mechanical and metals work including welding and would be free. Interested individuals should notify Supt Earl B Driver or F O Abel at the high school immediately.

Methodist Evangelism Crusade To Start Next Sunday

The local Methodist church will host a Visitation Evangelism Crusade with followers from Carey Mt Blanchard Marseille Wharton and Harpster joining the home congregation. Rev Donald W Cryer will lead as 150 visiting ministers train in Columbus under Dr Guy Black and Bishop H Lester Smith. Palm Sunday aims to add 30 000 new Christians statewide with 15 000 workers and over 1 000 churches participating.

Daugh ter of Cavit Family born in Kentucky

Mrs. Cora Hart received word of the arrival of a daughter born Sunday March 1 to Rev. and Mrs. C. M. Cavit of Somerset Kentucky. The child Alice Christine was born at Lexington hospital Wilmore Kentucky. The mother formerly Catherine Hart of Carey. This is the first child. Rev. Cavit is pastor of the Pulaska Mission and, while his wife is in the hospital, he attends a conference at Asbury College seminary. Mrs. Hart plans to go to Somerset when the family returns.

No Permits Issued For Tires And Tubes February Exhausted

The Carey rationing board could not issue tire and tube permits at Friday and Tuesday meetings as February quotas were exhausted. March quotas have been received and permits will be considered at the regular Friday meeting. Those not considered in February must apply for new permits to buy tires from March quota.

Red Cross Dance Aids Drive With Buckeye Entertainers

The Carey Moose lodge hosts a Saturday dance at the local hall to meet Red Cross Drive quota. Admission is 10 cents, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross committee due to no printing costs. Al Howard and his Buckeye Entertainers will provide music for round and square dancing.
