77 Applications Are Received For Government Bonds

George Remlinger of the Barl Green post American Legion announced that 77 applications for payment in government baby bonds of the adjusted service certificates were received. He urged eligibility and timely submission, noting about 100 ex service men may qualify. National Commander Ray Murphy warned Legion officers to certify only applicants personally known to be rightful owners, stressing careful identifications under the adjusted compensation payment act.

Methodist Church Reschedules Meetings and Events

The official board will meet Tuesday night with the church workers conference instead of Monday. The men’s night fish fry with Major Bowes Amateur Hour moves to March 17 from March 10. A church workers conference for all active members is set for Tuesday, March 10 at 6 45 with a pot luck dinner.

Kiwanis Club Meets. Mackey Shows Ohio State Football Films

Forty members and guests gathered at the Pilgrim House for a Kiwanis meeting. J. E. Mackey, Ohio State freshman football coach, spoke and displayed films of the Ohio State Notre Dame and Ohio State Chicago games. He highlighted trophies for the upcoming Carey basketball tournament and noted a 204 inch trophy from the state athletic association for the winner.

Short Course and F F A Meeting Ends With Ice Cream

Last Thursday evening the Short Course and F F A boys shared homemade ice cream and cake after a social gathering. A basketball game followed, with the F F A team losing the contest but leading in desserts. The event was part of the pest campaign effort, in which F F A boys were victorious overall.

Motorists fined for using old tags in Carey

Two out of state motorists were fined for expired license plates in Carey. Chief Tecumseh of Washington had a 1935 Washington tag on a Ford coupe and paid $10 including costs. O K Suller of Galion faced a $23.70 fine for a Hudson with 1936 Michigan tags.

A 7 pound son named Wayne Hugene born February 26 to Mr and Mrs Ira Wentz two and a half miles south of Hoe. An 8 pound son named Vincent Francis born February 25 to Mr and Mrs Cecil Stapley. First and Second Grades Demonstration Friday Program

About 25 parents and friends attended the Friday afternoon demonstration by the 1st and 2nd grades in Room 1 on February 21. The program included dramatized songs stories and poems such as Mothers Cook yes Lincoln The Train Washington stories Good Man and the Angel The Little Flower of Jesus and The Three Bears plus word flash cards a Latin game and a moving picture.

Philadelphia preacher to be heard at Christ Lutheran Church

Dr August Pohlman, former Temple Lutheran minister of Philadelphia, will preach at Christ Lutheran Church on March 12 and 13. He has led missions across the United Lutheran Church in America. Mrs MCC Reynolds Visits Toledo and Dance Studies

Mrs MCC Reynolds returned from Toledo after a week with friends on Forest and Holy Oak avenues. She and her daughter Miss Celia Reynolds visited the studio apartments and attended the Russian Ballet at the Museum of Art while the unit awaits the captain to resume work after weeks in a Toledo hospital.

Stone Wrecks Leg at Lime Quarry in Findlay

Jonathan Ry¢tl of Littl York sustained serious injuries Tuesday afternoon when a large stone fell on his left leg at the National Lime & Stone Company's quarry. The accident fractured the leg above the ankle and pierced the bone. Goff's ambulance took him to Findlay for X ray examinations and later returned him to his home at Little York.
