Helen, six month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Judd Bushong, died Saturday after weeks of whooping cough that turned to pneumonia. Short services were held at the home at 8:00 a.m. Rev. W Elmer Bailey officiated. Remains laid to rest at Mt Blanchard.

Smoke Stack Torn From Porcelain Plant Siding
Last Thursday a Hocking Valley freight car loaded with coal at the Porcelain Plant caused the stack to be torn down when a threshing machine separator on a flat car snagged the guy wire. The stack was sent to Marion for rerolling and the plant remained shut all week.

On Thursday August 3 the firemen hold their annual excursion to Cedar Point. Adults pay 1.00 and children 50 cents. At 4 PM Curtis will perform an aeroplane flight from the water off the point. All town businesses will close for the event.
