Carey Red Cross Branch Organized At Owl Hall
The Carey Branch of the Red Cross organized with about 125 charter members at Owl Hall. Mayor H G Chambers and Dr T A Spitler presided. Rev Father Aloys M Fish elected treasurer by acclamation, other officers chosen by ballot. Membership drive urged across Crawford and Ridge townships.

Hunter Wins Mail Carriage Contract From Government
A E Hunter secured the government contract to carry mail to and from trains after bidding at the request of Graham Buckland who had held the post for years. He now operates a new auto truck on the route. The Buckland family previously held the contract for about 15 years, dating back to the Carey era.
