A roundup from Wyandot County reports numerous deaths and marriages, including Carrie Gochlin of Upper Sandusky and George Isett of Mononcue. Bond sales, school and road matters, a divorce, and a Sunday school picnic set for July 4 are noted along with several community events and a hotel opening in Upper Sandusky.
Monday night meeting attended by Mayor Wonder and council members. Bills approved for labor sewers drift and freight totaling about 120 dollars, with a Public Utilities Commission reply declining to buy paying bonds and a bid to publish a bond sale notice.
Water mains tapped at the east corner of the Galt House for a drinking fountain modeled after the one at the public square. Community officials note the project follows city plumbing plans and aims to provide accessible drinking water downtown.
Last Thursday two oclock the brick layers began on East Main street. Thirteen men supplied three bricklayers as they laid bricks in four courses across then rested at the curb. Forest Review Advertiser reports a dispute between the guarantors of Chautauqua in Forest and the Lincoln Chautauqua Association over granting a Sunday date. The contract allows flexibility. a verbal agreement gave Forest Sunday, but the association has not agreed. The latest move is to present the issue to the association with Forest threatening to withdraw if no Sunday date is supplied.
Kenneth Hanaway four years old son of Mr and Mrs W T Hanaway of Toledo had a foot cut off by a street car last week. Doctors have given up hopes for his life. Mrs Hanaway formerly Miss Dorothy Harris and her mother Mrs Theodore Harris with Mrs Grace Dargin of Springfield rushed to Toledo after the accident.
Reported discovery reveals two old oak log culverts buried along Main Street. One lay before Mrs. D. H. Wonder’s home and another near the Samuel Kennerley corner. Wood remains fairly well preserved.
Kenton players delivered a poor showing last Sunday as Carey won 11 to 2 at Wagner's Park. Kenton demanded a 2 percent stake for the game, while Carey fans and local sources claimed several Carey girls could have swung the result with a motherly touch. Next Sunday Sycamore visits for a likely closer clash with the Clippers.
