Firemen were called to the Carey Wyandot County Farms Bureau branch Monday at 12 30 to extinguish a blaze in a corn shelter. The fire resulted from husks sticking to an auger shaft causing friction. Over the last week end the Carey Theatre underwent a complete update with new monochrome rear shutter projectors and full sound equipment now concealed behind a new screen. The system can reproduce high musical notes and bass, ensuring a vivid portrayal. The larger screen is paired with a rebuilt rear housing for the speaker setup. Within three to four weeks a new air conditioning system is expected, with possible cooling and refrigeration. General Electric engineers are reviewing plans. Snyder Lumber Co has been contracted to redecorate the theatre front with black latex to mask the screen and improve acoustics.
