The district meeting of the Daughters of Rebekah from Wyandot and Crawford counties met in Upper Sandusky last Thursday with Mollie Shirley of Bucyrus presiding. Officers elected for next year include Adal Truax Sycamore president and Gertrude Tate Carey vice president. about forty members from Carey attended. Sycamore chosen as next year’s meeting site.

Memorial ceremony for K. of P. and Pythian Sisters observed
Justus Lodge and the Pythian Sisters held their annual Memorial with a parade to M. E. church led by the Fire Department band. The service featured hymns, a scripture lesson from Joshua, a sermon on friendship, and reading of departed members. A graveside memorial was planned for Spring Grove cemetery.

Storm Torments Grey and Vicinity with Wind and Rain
A Saturday night storm battered Grey and nearby areas with strong wind and heavy rain. Joe Coleman’s large north town chicken house on Muncie Street toppled onto its roof, wetting the flock but not injuring them. Trees were uprooted or damaged, including fruit and shade trees near Sutonen, Seaman, and Kennerley. Our Lady of Consolation church arch was blown down. Mrs Moore’s High Street fruit trees suffered, and a horse tied at Mrs Loysdon’s was shaken but unhurt.

Flower Mission Day Observed by W C T U Visitors
Last Friday the W C T U observed flower mission day with about twenty five members of the city union visiting the infirmary. They welcomed representatives from Wharton Nevada and Sycamore unions. After a picnic dinner inmates gathered for brief religious exercises with singing and prayer by Rev. G. A. Bartlebaugh of Wharton. The visitors praised the management of Superintendent Shumaker. Shumaker and his family left for Titin at two o clock for their daughter Edna to graduate from Ursuline convent.
