A colored man named J. Taylor died Monday on the Big Four passenger train from Toledo arriving shortly after 3 PM. He lived in Toledo and was likely felled by swift heart disease amid a case of feverish illness. Wesley Patterson took the body to the undertaking rooms for burial preparations. the remains were sent to Toledo on the early morning train Tuesday.

Last Thursday afternoon Mrs. Lewis Criger and daughters Ethel and Elsie, west of town, were forced to pull aside for two wagons. A junk wagon spooked the horse near a large roadside tree, throwing the trio from the buggy. Miss Buger suffered facial bruises, Mrs. Criger sprained her wrist and back, all badly bruised. The horse ran to Miss Anna Rangers corner where George Mathern secured it. the buggy escaped with minor damage.
