Dana Miller Faires of Carey Ohio is enrolled as an aviation cadet in the Army Air Forces Pre-Flight school at Maxwell Field near Montgomery Alabama. The new class undergoes nine weeks of intensive military physical and academic training before flight instruction in the Southeast training center. Cadet Faires, a Carey High School graduate, previously worked as an electric assembler and served six months as an enlisted man before becoming an aviation cadet on April 12 1943 in Richmond Virginia.
