Death of H W Karr longtime Wyandot county veteran
William Henry Harrison Karr a Civil War veteran and prominent Wyandot County resident died at his home east of Crawford on May 26 at age 77. He served in Co A 123d Ohio and the Ninth Ohio Cavalry under Sherman, fought at Nashville and in the March to the Sea, and collected Indian and war relics. He married Winifred Davidson in 1871. three children survived. Funeral services were held at Crawford Church with large attendance. burial at Ritchie Cemetery.

The Catholic hall hosted the Class of 1920 as they presented The Merchant of Venice Up-to-Date. Senior Cecil Perkins captained the football team as Antonio, with Earl Fleck as Bassanio and Helen Griffith as Gratiano. Virgil Yohe played multiple roles including the Professor. Dr. Robert Parker Miles delivered the program’s highlight, sharing three character sketches and stressing the light within. Diplomas were awarded Friday night by Dr. R. C. Van Buren, with Rev. Aloys. M. Fish giving benediction.
