Water Spaniel Worth $1000 After Escape Incident

Dogs Kill Sheep In Night Raids
Wyandot county dog warden Jack Stalter investigated four sheep killed by dogs southwest of Carey on Friday night owned by Alton Phillips. A large yellow dog and a small black dog are suspected. others nearby have fallen prey in recent weeks. In the county over 125 untagged dogs have been disposed of this year and 2730 dog tags were sold in the first half of 1941, up from 2546 in 1940.

Coal cars shoved off switch in Ohio yards
Four coal cars left a 24-car string were shoved off the end of a switch in the C and O yards about 2 PM Wednesday. A wrecker and crew from Walbridge replaced the cars, the operation took about four hours, and virtually no damage occurred.

In Columbus Ohio Dr R H Markwith state health director urged precautionary measures to curb a potential polio spread from seven active cases in three northern counties since July 1 Five cases were in Cuyahoga one in Lake and one in Hancock He warned fatigue increases infection risk and advised avoiding crowds in children The polio epidemic began June 29 last year peaked September 20 with 158 cases. this year 17 cases by the same date.
