Reunion of Remlinger Families at Limestone Lake Picnic

Descendants of Lafe and Rose Remlinger and their families held an annual picnic at Limestone Lake on Sunday. Fifty-five people attended and enjoyed swimming and other activities.

Retired Farmer LaFontaine Found Dead in Barn

Sylvester LaFontaine a retired farmer from Frenchtown was found dead Saturday morning in a barn on his farm by his son Marcellus. Born November 1 1885 in Alvada he was the son of Jacob and Catherine Welter LaFontaine. He married Matilda Kelly on November 10 1908 and she survives. Other survivors include a son in Carey a daughter Alma Zender of Toledo a brother Ed and three grandchildren with five great grandchildren. A sister is deceased. He was a member of St Nicholas Catholic Church Frenchtown and its Holy Name Society. County coroner Dr Q B Smith ruled death by his own action. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the church with Rev I Leroy Paul officiating Burial at Walnis St Wendelin’s Cemetery Fortoria. Bristol Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Schmidt Machine Co Burglary Takes Truck and Cash

Wyandot County sheriff investigators probe a break in at Schmidt Machine Co in Lowell. A rear window was broken to enter and change from a candy vending machine and cash register were stolen. A 1955 Dodge pickup was found missing after noon Friday.

Margaret Richards Dies in Columbus at 52

Funeral services were held for Mrs Francis Margaret Richards 52 of south of Carey at Bristoll Funeral Home. She died July 15 1964 at University Hospital Columbus after a long illness. Burial in Spring Grove Cemetery. She was born March 17 1912 near Carey. Survived by husband Francis two sons Robert and Rodney a sister Berniece brothers Bruce and Karl and three grandchildren. Beech Grove Church member. Rev Ruben Leuthold and Rev Chauncey Woodworth officiated.

Westward Trip Highlights from Surbaugh and Atkins Party

Mr. and Mrs. J N Surbaugh of E North Street and Mr. and Mrs. L B Atkins of High Street returned last Monday after a 10 day tour through Indiana Illinois Missouri Kansas and Colorado. In Colorado they visited their son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Raymond Coxey and children Diane Craig Terri Lynn Bryan and Robyn Sue who reside inorte. They toured Rocky Mountain State Park and Trail Ridge above the timber line and attended a rodeo in Wyoming. On returning they passed through Wyoming Nebraska Iowa Illinois and Indiana.
