Carey Clippers win one sided baseball game
Last Thursday at Carey ball grounds the Carey Clippers defeated the Forest Hygienics in a lopsided contest. Griffith and Schmuck led at bat with strong pitching by Mann. Griffith struck out eleven, Mann fifteen. Four errors by the Flygientos and one by the Clippers hurt the defense. Merle Dow umpired.

Boiler Explosion Kills Two On Hocking Valley loco
Sunday around two a.m. a boiler exploded on a Hocking Valley locomotive near Powell after assisting a freight up the grade. Engineer William Wetterman and fireman H. H. Bause were killed, Wetterman thrown into a field and Bause onto the tender. Presumed cause is low boiler water.
