Spayth Decorating Co announces a new Findlay store at 8288 Main Street with a five year lease. The shop will stock Sherwin Williams products wallpapers appliances novelties RCA and Decca Capitol records. Mr and Mrs Jess Spayth will move to Sid Sandusky Street Findlay from McCutchenville and sales of the McCutchenville store and two homes are expected within days. Headquarters moved from McCutchenville to Carey last week.

Pair bound over in multi-county burglary case

Calvin Plott 22 of Carey bound to Hancock county grand jury on charges of breaking and entering and larceny at Arcadia hardware and school building on June 3. Harold Davis 19 of Fostoria and Linus Krom of Carey are also linked to related killings in Wyandot and Arcadia cases. Plott held on 2000 dollar bond. Davis bound to Wyandot grand jury. rifle and air rifle thrown into a Bettsville creek.

Carey Farmers Community Club reviews Malabar Farm program

At the Carey Farmers' Community Club meeting in the Knights of Columbus hall T. D. Roadside stand to open near Carey with pottery stock

E Lb Marquet, who bought the C A Cooper farm west of Carey on Route 15, will open a roadside stand next week. The stand will feature a $2,000 stock of pottery and will also offer chicken sandwiches and soft drinks.

Plan to Make Clyde a Fly Free Village

A Clyde plan aims to rid the village of flies and mosquitos. Volunteers from the Clyde Parent-Teacher Association will canvass homes, enroll residents, and collect the per‑house charge of 3.50, earning 25 cents each for the PTA. Clyde council seeks about 125 to spray public areas and alleys, with business men billed for the effort. The Commercial Chemical Co. of Gibsonburg will apply wettable DDT powder, said to be harmless to animals.

Yellow turning white on som license tags

Ohio auto license plates are bleaching from yellow to dirty white on aluminum plates. Edward T Fogo, registrar of motor vehicles, notes the change affects plates made when steel ran out. About 1,000,000 licenses were aluminum in 1948, with all passenger car plates possibly shifting to lighter metal next year.

Auto Club reports eight killed in 1947 Wyandot County crashes

Wyandot County Automobile Club figures show 79 total accidents in 1947 with eight fatalities. Sixty five people were injured in 30 nonfatal crashes and 41 incidents caused only property damage. Eight highway deaths occurred in the year. The 1948 Traffic Accident Facts book from the Ohio Department of Highways lists 1793 statewide highway deaths in 1947, with 42 percent on rural state highways. pedestrians of all ages are most at risk. Economic losses totaled 49.306 million in property damage, 46 million in wage loss, 2.7 million in medical expenses, and 22 million in insurance costs.

Marion girl and man bound over to Wyandot grand jury

Delma Mae Weir 19 and James Farrell 40 were bound over to the Wyandot grand jury after arraignment before Mayor Edwin S. Naus. Both Marion residents face forgery and obtaining money under false pretenses charges with bond set at 3000 each. The warrant was issued through the county prosecutor office. The case involves three stores and a service station reporting nearly 200 in bad checks since June 12.

CARE OF INDIGENT REST HOME PATIENTS RULED BY OHIO AG

Attorney General Hugh S Jenkins ruled that local poor relief authorities may not fund care for permanently disabled indigent individuals in rest homes. Ohio law assigns duty to the county and only temporarily disabled homeless indigents may be cared for at local expense.
