Village Council Reverses Special Police Action At Swan Plant

The village council rescinded deputizing eight special police at the Swan Rubber Co. plant after protests from Local 414. Police Chief Pieracini sought continued protection and hinted at state aid while considering adding a part time officer if funds allow. The Seagrave fire truck arrived that afternoon.

Improve 3 Mile Bridge And Approaches East Of Findlay

Plans to improve two short sections of State Route 15 in Hancock county east of Findlay are to be discussed at a 10 a.m. bid-setting session in Columbus. The project includes upgrading the Blanchard River Bridge with a new floor modern railing and widened pavement, plus a culvert replacement. road closures and detours will occur. Estimated cost about 210000 dollars with completion by June 15, 1961, part of a larger 49 mile construction program totaling over 13 million dollars for 14 projects.

Men of Carey Invited to Findlay Garden Club Meeting

The Findlay Men's Garden Club invites Carey area men to attend its July meeting at 322 W North St in Carey on Tuesday at 7 30 pm. Club officials Gaster and Tewell seek to organize a Carey club and promote fellowship through gardening. Leo Brown, secretary, will present the Woodson K Jones Memorial Trophy won at the America Convention in Asheville and share slides of the Biltmore Estate and Smoky Mountains.

Pool Classes Offered at Memorial Pool Registration Times Set

Memorial pool reports water at 76 degrees Tuesday noon per Pool Manager Earl Greer. Registration for beginner and advanced classes is at 9 a.m. Friday for school age swimmers. Private lessons for all ages including preschool start at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Adult classes begin Monday at 9 p.m. Season tickets remain on sale.

Two Teens Injured When Car Crashes into Parked Vehicle

David Lee Wilcox 17 and passenger Terry Rader 13 were treated at Fostoria City Hospital after a 2 PM crash northwest of town. Wilcox lost control while reaching for a falling package, striking a car parked in front of Walter Roynon at 514 Findlay Street. Wilcox suffered five missing teeth while Rader endured severe facial lacerations.
