Death of Peter Moes in Wyandot county obituary notice

Peter Moes died Monday evening at 8 15 at the home of his daughter Mrs Carolyn Collet four miles southwest of town after six months illness. He was born September 11 1845 in Luxemburg Germany and spent 61 years in Wyandot county. He married Migs Theresa Dostervat St Bealfane Johiprah January 22 1878. Survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild plus one surviving daughter Carolyn Collet. Funeral services at Our Lady of Consolation church led by Rev Othmar Miller with interment in St Marys cemetery. Pallbearers named John S Fox Joseph Jacoby Ralph Brown Herman Dorr Raymond Orians Joseph Thiiery.

An 844-pound daughter was born Friday to Mr. and Mrs. Hilarion Haubert at home south of town and christened Mary Louise at Our Lady of Consolation in Eugene Haubert of Detroit and Miss Gertrude Haubert of Frenchtown as sponsors. A daughter was born Saturday night to Lieut. and Mrs. M. M. Bradley of Annapolis at Columbia hospital Washington D C named Carolyn Gertrude in honor of two grandmothers. Lieut. Bradley is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Bradley of E Findlay street. A 6-pound son was born Wednesday morning to Mr. and Mrs. Winfield Tong at the home of Mrs. Tong’s parents on E Findlay street. An 8-pound daughter was born Thursday June 30 to Mr. and Mrs. Alerd H Gutenberg of Salem township named Irene Mary.

Briggs Roberts Wedding in Toledo United Brethren Church

Miss Myrtle Fern Briggs daughter of Grove street residents wed Floyd Roberts son of Near Upper Sandusky Saturday at 4 in Oakdale United Brethren Toledo. Rev J W Shock officiated with single ring. witnesses included Roberts family and Datson. Bride wore orchid silk crepe. she is Carey High School 1926 graduate and Bowling Green student. They plan a weeklong wedding trip and will live on a farm near Upper Sandusky.

Former Minister Buried in Sidney Funeral

Rev. J. C. Rinehart former pastor of the United Brethren church in St. Marys died of apoplexy while serving at Sidney. Several St. Marys friends attended the funeral Tuesday. He is survived by his wife and three children including two sons in the ministry. He previously led Beech Grove United Brethren church south of town.

Carey Man Held on Breakin and Entering Charge

Zenith Zender of Carey was arraigned after being taken into custody on a charge of breaking and entering the Standard Oil station. He pleaded not guilty and was bound over to the grand jury on a $1,000 bond.

Semi Pros Split Twin Bill With Springfield Tramps

Ferner pitched well for the Semi Pros in a 9-2 Sunday win over the Springfield Tramps while yielding eight hits in the loss to Findlay 1-0 on Monday. Parcel held Findlay to five hits as the pitchers battled. Burke of Springfield belted a long homer, and Carey and Farrell provided strong defense and offense in a tight series. Upcoming games include a twilight tilt with the Tiffin Merchants and a return with the Gulf Prides of Toledo, aiming to prove the team can handle northwestern Ohio rivals.

Domestic Art Club Demonstrates Dress Scoring Techniques

The Domestic Art club met at Mrs. Allan Baker's home for its third gathering. Elizabeth Bachman and Adora Jane Hunter demonstrated "How to Score a Dress" while Kathleen Frantz learned the basics. Rita Brown and Persis Peirce hosted lunch and Cartha Phillips and Martha Phillips will host the next meeting on July 14 at Mrs. Baker's with Frances Peirce as a guest.

Morin Survives Near-Fatal Lake Erie Boat Crash

Local A. P. manager A Morin narrowly escaped serious injury when his outboard speed boat struck a submerged log in Lake Erie near Point Place. He was traveling 53 miles per hour and was thrown from the boat. a rubber helmet and life jacket saved him from worse bruises as the craft tore apart.

Kummerer Family Reunion Held Near Tiffin

About 50 relatives gathered Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Kummerer Jr. near Tiffin for a family reunion. Dinner was served at noon and the afternoon featured cards, music, and social time. The 1933 reunion will be at Mrs. John Kummerer’s home in Tiffin.

Quick Get Away: Clay Shuman Returns from Lakeside Chase

Monday near midnight Clay ton Shuman arrived at his father's home a mile west of town and surprised two men working over the auto he had driven into the barn. The pair fled in a car pursued by Shuman, crashing in a field. they escaped on foot after abandoning the vehicle. Items missing from the car suggest battery theft and police hunt George Heck, owner of the abandoned car, remains at large as investigators search the area.

Wyandot County Farm Bureau to Meet in Carey Park

Wyandot County Farm Bureau will hold its second quarterly meeting and bicentennial celebration in Carey Park Friday July 8. Freight changes on Big Four alter Carey Sandusky local

The Carey Sandusky local on the Big Four is discontinued effective last Monday. Belefontaine freight will run to Sandusky with trips north on Monday Wednesday Friday and return on Tuesday Thursday Saturday. The local switch engine will operate at Tiffin Vanlue and Carey. The Detroit diner from Passenger No 3 stays here each afternoon and returns to Detroit on No 10.

Legion Observes Fourth Tuesday with Ball Game and Auto Races

The Legion celebration at the county fair grounds featured a Carey versus Upper Sandusky junior Legion baseball game with Upper rallying in the seventh inning to win amid 12 errors by Carey. Auto races followed, with Jim Brown winning the first 5m32s, Lanker taking the second race in 8m56s, Carr winning the third, and Brown clinching the final 15 mile race in 15m05s at high speed.
