Odd Fellows Home Band Wins Three Prizes in Findlay
The Odd Fellows Home band from Springfield won three prizes at the oil and gas celebration in Findlay. They earned a $50 cash prize for fires in marching and appearance and placed second best playing band and first best marching band, receiving trophies. Glenn Brown, son of Mrs. Bessie Brown of Carey, has lived at the Home for 60 years and is a band member. G. V. Sutphen of Toledo, once of Carey, judged and directed the massed band. The Home band played in Carey on Sunday, June 20 for memorial services.
