Milton Stone of Bellefontaine wed Miss Florence Lusk of Bellefontaine in Upper Sandusky on a Friday ceremony. The bride, daughter of D B Lusk, previously helped run the Ideal Hat Shop. The groom, son of Frank Stone of West Liberty, is a Big Four railroader. The couple will reside in Bellefontaine with Rev GF Lamare officiating.
A private well in Astita Hula County encountered gas at 127 feet with about forty pounds pressure. The well is estimated to have a capacity of around 2500, suggesting gas resources may persist longer than feared.
Walter Updegraff son of John Up Jesraly Ridge Township married Miss Yolen Brooks in a ceremony witnessed by Reinhart and others. Miss Mattie Myes was called to Columbus amid a family gathering of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thomas and HF Thompson. The funeral for Mrs. Jane McDowell occurred Tuesday, with relatives from Sandusky attending.
Carey youths attempted a sleigh ride on a quiet Saturday evening. The horse tired of pulling and fled into a snow drift. The boys walked seven miles to Upper Sandusky, then seven miles back to recover the horse, which had wandered to a farmer’s barn. Charles H. Miller died at Crestline Tuesday aged ninety one. Father of Hon. Frank Miller former state senator he helped build Crestline water works and the first high school. He was once Ohio and Indiana railroad conductor and later Pennsylvania railroad livestock agent. Also noting theater ads and a local fatality Mrs Sylvia Funk aged sixty five died after a fall in her home. Funeral arrangements at McCutchenville church and cemetery burial listed.
The Carey chamber will host its first annual banquet at Moose Hall on Wednesday Feb. 4 at 7 40 p m. The event includes the annual election and features T E Cassidy secretary of the chamber as speaker. Members urged to attend and new members invited to join for community improvement efforts.
William Stewart, aged over seventy, was found dead in the snow near his southeast Kirby home Monday evening. His grandson, who visits daily, found him near a well after noting the elder man’s frailty. A fence he climbed to reach the well left scratches on his face, suggesting a fall or injury during the climb.
Arthur Culp of Sycamore and Clareene Culp Earl Culp and Barbara Lashley of Marion along with Charles Kitzmiller of Crawford saw relatives called home last week due to the serious illness of their mother Mrs Samuel Cuup of west of township who has suffered a severe bowel attack.
