School officials report attendance around 90 percent with earlier absences totaling 76 on Monday 62 on Tuesday and 88 on Wednesday. Local funeral and janitorial efforts with germicidal spraying cited as factors in illness control.

Next Monday begins a new semester with several half year subjects. The offerings include appreciation for English history community civics for vocational guidance and advanced algebra for solid geometry.

Chapel Service Sets Tone for Band Morning Program

Monday morning began with devotional led by Mr Mulhol land featuring the parable of the talents and the Lord's Prayer. The band then offered a chapel concert including I Love a Parade Maybe Tea for Two Deep River Down by the Ohio Two Big Bass Drum Woodpecker Song and Repaz Band concert march with occasional vocal interludes.

Basketball game vs Bluffton scheduled Friday here

This Friday evening the basketball team plays Bluffton at home. The match with Upper, set for last Friday, has been postponed indefinitely.

Upper Sandusky quiz team member capers in county event

Opal Tong represented the school at the county quiz book test held last Saturday morning in Upper Sandusky. Juniors and seniors received booklets and beverages months ago, and a competitive exam was held for interested students. The top scorer will face Wyandot county winners in a Florida trip prize. Results were checked by Ralph de, Evelyn Neu meister, and Mr. Driver, with rechecking planned Wednesday evening before final results are announced.

Leg Broken at Home After Icy Fall Near Farm Bureau

Ernest Dunn is confined to his home on West Findlay Street with a badly broken bore in his right leg just above the ankle. He sustained the injury Saturday at about 5 30 o clock when he slipped on ice and fell as he left his automobile parked in the yard behind the Farm Bureau office. His son Victor was with him. Miss Mildred Adams of Upper Sandusky, a trained nurse, is caring for Mr Dunn.

Pinochle Tournament Resumes After Holidays

The pinochle tournament resumes Monday evening with good attendance. A tournament meeting will be held next Monday at 8:00 PM at the K of P hall. Participants are urged to attend and note the date January 20.

Twenty seven people will answer the second selective service call from Wyandot County on Tuesday January 28. They report at 8 00 AM in Upper Sandusky after a screening that reduced initial volunteers from 30 to 22 plus 5 draftees. Woman's Society of Christian Service Meeting Held

The Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist church met in the church parlors with president Mrs. S. R. Bame in charge. A pledge service saw each woman place her pledge on the altar. Assisting were Mrs. Alfred Davis Mrs. Willis Wonder Mrs. Fred Mitchell Mrs. R. H. Sturgeon and Mrs. J. F. Baker. Miss Henrietta and Miss Elizabeth Iden sang two duets. Sues Brother for Estate Share in Seneca County Case

Mrs Esther Herrmann sues Ralph W Schlachter as executor claiming she and the defendant are the only heirs of the estate of Clara Schlachter who died May 18 1940. She seeks to set aside the 1939 will probated July 18 1940 and contests a deed of Tiffin property conveyed to the brother by their father Nicholas Schlachter before his death.

Reverend Lee Named Pastor Counselor for Findlay Group

Rev. B. L. Lee was chosen pastor counsellor for the Findlay group of Evangelical churches to form a Findlay Group Young People Union. Leaders from Findlay St Paul Findlay West Park Fostoria Belmore Mt Cory and Carey met at Benton Ridge to nominate officers and plan a February 4 rally at St Pauls Findlay. Methodists Plan Redecoration of Church Rooms

The official board of the Methodist church approved repainting the Sunk educational unit. Classes using the rooms will supply paint and volunteers will perform the work. A uniform color scheme will be applied under supervision by Pastor Cryer, with a four member committee selecting colors: Clayton Twining, Mrs Forrest Baker, Mrs S R Bame, and Mrs H P Coldren.

Eugene Schmidt 27 of Kenton son of Mr and Mrs William Schmidt of Mifflin township narrowly escaped serious injury when his Ford coupe was struck by a C and O passenger train at a Lowell crossing. His car was demolished and Schmidt suffered an injured ear a dislocated thumb and body bruises and received treatment from an Upper Sandusky physician. He works as a service man for Massey Harris Inc farm implement manufacturers.

Plans for Obituary of Hiram Krebs from Salem Township

Mrs Mary Stroup and daughter Miss Betty and Mrs Myrtle Perkins and daughter Milss Maxene of Carey attended the funeral of Hiram Krebs of Salem township held at the Bender Lucas funeral home. Mr Krebs was a nephew of Mrs Stroup and a cousin of Mrs Perkins.

Enck Infant Undergoes Mastoid Operation in Findlay
