Chapel Service Opens Tuesday Morning with Singing

The chapel service began with student body singing of Come Thou Almighty King and Devotional readings by Rev. W. R. Shisler who led in prayer. Huffman announced events followed by Morning Bells and a prayer from Rev. Shisler. Seniors named to the invitation committee are Dorcas Tong Reva Morehart and Francis Kitzler.

Perfect paper earns LaVerne Ellis front seat

LaVerne Ellis leads a seventh grade English class with a perfect Monday test score to secure seat No. 1. Public Affairs Board Reports Net Balance After Refunds

The Board of Trustees of Public Affairs presents its annual report showing a solid balance after issuing 1,062.67 in refunds to electric and water customers who had prepaid meters. It lists light collections 57,171.07 water 8,930.06 misc 3,687.02 park fund 472.41 interest 1,088.76 and old warrant adjustment 5.00 for 1931.

Death of Mrs. Wm. Pethe in Florida

Relatives in Alvada learn of the death of Veronica Hoffbauer Pethe Friday at her St. Petersburg Florida home. She was born near Alvada and leaves sisters Mrs. Charles Reinhart Mrs. Henry Kessler and Mrs. Ignatius Logsdon. Delegations from Alvada Fremont and local families attend the funeral.

A daughter was born Thursday evening January 5 at 9 o'clock to Mrs and Mrs Orve Bare at the home of Mrs Bare's parents Mr and Mrs Ben Clouse in Adrian. The Carey Times grants a free subscription during 1933. No twins were reported in 1932.

Large crowd attends P T A meeting at high school

The January P T A session in the high school auditorium drew a large audience. The Rhythm Band in white bunny uniforms performed with Miss Mary Finley at the piano. County Auditor B B Hudson summarized county finances. Supt. W L Arnholt urged backing Mort Plano. Rev Fr Paul Vollrath spoke on duties of teachers and parents, moral discipline, and understanding the child's view. Mrs E S Burson presided.

Funeral for H A Groth Held at Arcadia Methodist

J B Stalter BE Thome Naomi Hunter James Gibson Kate Class and C C Thome attended funeral services for H A Groth at Arcadia Methodist church. Burial followed in Arcadia cemetery. Groth died Wednesday from Hodgkin's disease leaving a wife and six children. He was a son in law of Mrs Class.

Narrow Escape In Township Crash Near South Street Crossing

William Kummerer of 8 S Patterson street narrowly escaped a serious accident Tuesday forenoon at about 10 30 when the Crawford township truck he was driving was struck by a Big Four yard engine at the South street crossing. Kummerer was uninjured and the truck suffered only slight damage.

John Wilcox Paroled After Stolen Property Conviction

John Wilcox of Seneca county was granted parole from the Ohio penitentiary for receiving stolen property. The parole takes effect March 1 following approval by the state board of paroles on Monday.
