Death Angel Claims John Davidson Sr in Carey Area

John Davidson Sr., 86, died after a heart asthma attack followed by influenza exhaustion at the Davidson homestead four miles south of Carey. Born October 28 1842 in Danville Ohio he lived in Wyandot and Henry counties and had two marriages and many children. Funeral Mass was held at St Joseph's in Salem Township and he is buried in Ritchie cemetery.

Parent Teachers Association Meeting at High School

The PTA will meet at the high school auditorium Monday evening January 14 at 7 30. A large attendance is hoped. The 4 H Girls club led by Mrs Clint Baker will give a team demonstration. A Bell will discuss the Smith Hughes Law followed by a farm class demonstration. Truman Romig will speak. Music by the community orchestra directed by Earl Snook.

George E Wells a telegraph operator for the Hocking Valley was taken to his home in Macon Illinois on Wednesday by Dr Perkins. Wells had lived with Perkins for many years and is in a very serious condition due to tuberculosis.

Prank and Forrest Hurd of Carey shipped 48 ahead of white faced steers via Wyandot Livestock Co. One load sold in Buffalo through Producers Co operative Commission Association reaching $14.50 per cwt. The second load headed to Pittsburgh for sale by the Association. The Hurd brothers are noted as strong feeders with multiple shipments this year and purchase of quality calves through the county and national producer associations. Carey and Upper Sandusky loading points saw 5 and 7 cars respectively, with the county shipping over 16 cars in total.

Operation in Tuffin Gene Logsdon Undergoes Appendicitis Surgery

Gene Logsdon, 13, son of Mr and Mrs Wilfrid Logsdon, was taken to Mercy hospital Friday for an appendicitis operation after six weeks of influenza sickness. His father and other relatives visited him, while Mrs Logsdon has been ill with the grip.

Death of Eugene Logsdon in Salem Township

Eugene Logsdon aged 13 of Salem Township died at Mercy Hospital Tiffin after an appendectomy for a burst appendix. His condition was critical from the start and worsened after Tuesday following surgery four days prior. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at Our Lady of Consolation Church.

Death of PAV Sacob follows illness and surgery in Tiffin

After four days ill, PAV Sacob died Tuesday at 2:30 PM at Mercy hospital Tiffin after an appendectomy revealed abdominal ulcers. He had helped at the Raymond Lonsway home while influenza raged, and funeral is set for Friday at Our Lady of Consolation Church with burial in Riverside cemetery. He was 50, survived by eight children from his first marriage and five from his second, plus sisters and a brother.

Tragedy in Findlay: Harry Luzader Dies by Own Hand

Harry Luzader of Findlay aged 38 died at his home four miles northwest of town after firing a shotgun in his mouth. Ill for two weeks with influenza he had warned of harming his wife and children as his father Charles Luzader lay dying in Fostoria. Funeral held at Memorial Evangelical church with burial in Spring Grove. He leaves wife Julia and two children Ralph and Nina May, plus sisters and brothers.

Miss Elizabeth Rader Dies at 79 in Cleveland

The Carey resident Miss Elizabeth Rader died in Cleveland January 2 1929 at age 79 after a period of illness from asthma. She had lived with her niece Mrs A W Weigel in Cleveland for eight years and earlier ran a millinery business in Carey for 66 years. Burial was at Spring Grove cemetery after services at the Methodist church with Rev Joseph B Shellhaas officiating.

Lutheran Church postpones services due to influenza

Preparatory and Holy Communion were moved to January 13 because of illness. Evening services were omitted for two Sundays but resume this Sunday January 20. Foreign Mission Day is January 20 with a free will offering. A vesper service with organ recital and choir numbers is planned for January 27.
