Seneca County Plans Sixteen Veterans Housing Units

Four single family houses and six duplex buildings are funded from a $46,000 state grant for World War II veterans housing. Bloomville and Melmore will receive one single unit each, Tiffin and Fostoria progress on duplexes, with additional singles allocated to other villages. Delivery of materials is imminent and construction will be rushed. Wyandot County’s share is undetermined.

17 Ohio State therapy students begin clinical training

Elizabeth Houk of Carey is among 17 seniors in Ohio State University's occupational therapy program who will start clinical training January 6 in 10 hospitals and institutions in the eastern United States. Houk, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Houk of Carey, will be assigned to Massillon State Hospital. approaching graduation requires nine months of hands on experience.

Fredric Snobarger Joins Antarctic Expedition

Fredric Smobarger 2/c returned to Boston on Christmas after 11 days with his parents Mr and Mrs John Snobarger off Findlay Street. The aircraft carrier Philippine Sea, his ship, leaves Norfolk for its Antarctic trip to join Admiral Byrd's expedition. Téx D. Reilly, son of Mr and Mrs J Brown of High Street Carry, also with Byrd expedition as chief torpedoman on the USS Senate.

Conley's Holiday Trip Spanned Tennessee Visit

Twin and newborn births brighten Mt Blanchard area

The Caudill couple welcomed an 8 pound daughter on December 24. The Brown family added a 7 and a half pound daughter on Christmas Day named Carol Sue near Vanlue. Roy Musgrave and wife welcomed twins Beverly Jo and Barbara Joe at Findlay hospital, weighing 3 pounds 3 ounces and 3 pounds 4 ounces. Mrs. Musgrave is home while the babies remain in hospital.

Home from Angola Phi Kappa president returns to college

Francis Orians a Tri State College senior from Angola spent a two week vacation with his parents Mr and Mrs Vincent Orians near Carey. He plans to return to school in January and graduate in aeronautical engineering next March. He has been elected president of the Phi Kappa fraternity.
