A local optical office promotes improving life in the new year by offering tailored glasses. They invite those with vision trouble to visit during office hours 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with other times by appointment.
Mrs. A B Castanien of Upper Sanuusky aided a Columbus infirmary resident known as Doc Wolverton by locating his two estranged sons. She advertised in a Columbus paper, leading the men and families to reunite the father with his sons who had lost track of him for two decades. He now lives in Columbus with improved health and family support.
Miss Mildred Nichols daughter of Dr and Mrs J Nichols, has spent a year in France doing relief work for the Society of Friends. She planned to sail last Friday. Nichols was a trained nurse in Los Angeles before her service.
Judge Close decides that the Olive P. Hakes estate must distribute 8680 in bonds plus 2710 in accrued interest to the heirs of Elisha H. Hakes, under section 8577. Costs are divided. administrators Roy Aralton and Harry B. Faes must pay amounts into court pending final distribution. An appeal bond of 500 is fixed.
Monday Cyril C Simonis assumed ownership of the grocery store formerly run by his father F J Simonis. He has been connected with the business for sixteen years except for World War service with the 329th band from Sept 1917 to Apr 1919. The store began in 1886, moved to Main and Vance streets in 1890, and will reorganize with Miss Marguerite Simonis as cashier.
Mrs Lawrence Cook Ms A J King Mr Elza Jacobs and Mrs Lloyd Yohe with Virgil rode to the infirmary last Wednesday. Each inmate received popcorn candy an orange and a red apple plus three cakes for Christmas dinner. The Sycamore union funded the fruit as Yohe shared the Christmas story and others led prayers and songs. The event praised as one of the finest efforts by the W C T U.
Rev Creech of Wharton officiated at the funeral for Mrs Warren Wisner held Tuesday afternoon at St John’s church west of town. Interment followed in the church cemetery with pallbearers listed as cousins Will Dible Alton Phillips Arthur Phillips Perry Presler Chester Wisner and Jack Sopher. Out of town attendees included Mrs Tom Cromer and daughter Doris of Fostoria Mrs Zella Redfox of Berwick Mr and Mrs Chester Wisner of Findlay and Mrs Ross Shafer of Benton Rmée.

The Eden township fox hunt drew nearly all able bodied men as residents hunted from border to center. They captured one fox, which was clubbed to death, and then sold it at auction for 20.75 dollars paid by K. I. Shellhouse.
Consumers in Carey were surprised last Tuesday to learn Christmas eggs were down ten cents a dozen. The paper quoted CEES for Christmas at 60 cents to the producer, while Upper Sandusky papers reported dealers paying 53 5 cents.
Al White, superintendent of the Anti Saloon League of Ohio, will give an address at the Lutheran church Sunday evening. Special music will be furnished, and everybody is invited.
Russell A. McEvoy and Gertrude Marie Stoll were married at the English Lutheran parsonage in Carey in a single ring ceremony conducted by Dr. B Luther Spaid. Attendants were Dorothy Law and Arthur Stoll. The couple will reside in Marion after a trip to Canton and a dinner at the bride’s home.
