Carey Village Council Proposes Broad Public Works Plan
The council outlines a five unit Police traffic vehicle project a breathalyzer program with half cost covered by the state and a new self supporting radio tower. It calls for custodian wages for the municipal building and extensive park and street work including widening North Muncie Street, grading and tiling, and annexing land west of Waterworks Park. The Selective Service Board No.127 at Ft Hayes Columbus announced four men forwarded on February 10 were inducted into the Army. Inducted were Michael Theodore Nordyke Mike O Shea Bray of Upper Sandusky Douglas Dee Arnold of rural Upper Sandusky and Stephen Everett Dingus of Morral. Fifteen Carey Volunteer Firemen extinguished a first floor blaze at the Lester Dawson residence 110 S Vance Street reported at 4 20 a m February 17. Fire officials think wiring caused the fire and no damage estimate was released.
