Orin Young owns pedigreed rabbits with complex family trees, kept alongside a $500 dog. He documents multiple generations of rabbits and specializes in Black Flemish Giants.
S Buckingham of Findlay who oversees beet acreage for Continental Sugar Company says 22 000 acres have been signed for the coming season. He notes a sugar shortage of many thousand tons and predicts a sugar card system within months.
Cc M Steen teaches at Stetler school to fill the vacancy caused by illness of H R Hart and D T Hart who formerly shared the post. Steen recently returned to teaching after a year away and finds it easy to resume the work after vacation.
About 250 people attended the Washington Lincoln social at the M B church Friday evening. A strong program featured Sunday school orchestra selections, church choir anthems, vocal duets by Mrs. George Ash and Mrs. J M Shimer, and a piano solo by Roger Lindsay. The event included talks on historical significance and Methodism reconstruction, plus an address on As Others See Us. Refreshments and contests added to the sociable mood with children enjoying a hatchet hunt and a cherry contest won by Martha Patterson.
C F Sutter adds a Studebaker ambulance coach to his undertaker equipment. Chester Blue, living three miles southwest of McCutchenville, purchased Mrs. Ella Kemerley’s property on North Vance Street and plans to move to town. Mrs. Kemerley will occupy her mother-in-law Anna Kemerley’s home on South Vance Street while Anna visits her daughter-in-law Mrs. Charlie Spitler in Tymochtec.
Ashland county resident T Dete bought J T Myers property on Muncie Street through C A Cooper. The purchase includes the residence and 30 lots for $4,000. Dete takes possession in April, Myers move to their farm west of town in late March.
The Findlay spring session of the District Ep worth League Rally and the District Brotherhood Rally will be held at the First M E Church in Findlay on Tuesday March 4. Speakers include Hon Frank B Willis Mrs H Olin Cady of Chicago and E Dow Bancroft.
F. F. Scheel proprietor of Carey Greenhouses and Flower Shop rents four Ardmore lots to grow very early vegetables for market. He is cultivating an unusual number of vegetable plants for his own use and for customers.
Representatives of a tractor plant visited last week to confer with the Carey Chamber of Commerce about locating a facility there. Local officials discussed prospects and economic impact with potential site considerations and employment opportunities.
A Chamber of Commerce gathering is scheduled at the library. Members are urged to attend, with officials promising updates and community-focused discussion.

The Fostoria Times reports Isaac Stombaugh 85, an elderly veteran, fell on ice after leaving his home to visit S J Ernest wounded a week earlier on a bicycle. His fall dislocated his shoulder, worsening a troubled family with Jesse Stombaugh of Carey nearby. Charles Stombaugh, Jesse's eldest son, was wounded in France last summer. The family is described as pretty much disabled.
At Sycamore a Friday flag raising event included Carey student cadets whose drill drew applause. Supt Beitler spoke on physical training for boys while the Carey visitors were entertained by the Domestic Science class at the school house during feeding time.
Mr and Mrs Ralph Gilliland will move to the Stanley Ranger farm two and a half miles east of town occupying the house left by Wm Beldel schies who moves to a Sycamore area farm. Gilliland formerly clerked at Newhard's clothing store and later worked in a porcelain plant returning to farm life.
Mrs Hugh Durkin deputy organizer of the Catholic Ladies of Columbus is in Marion guiding Our Lady of Consolation parish women into the new order. A preliminary meeting occurred at the K of C hall and Durkin will remain about ten days more prior to the supreme president's Institute visit. She stays at the Pilgrim House.
Christian Hoepf shows a receipt for his grandfather Michael Hoepf’s 1856 coffin burial. The bill is 15 dollars, highlighting how prices contrasted with today’s costs. Undertaker John Frieg of Tifin handled the burial arrangements.
Milk in Findlay falls from 13 to 12 cents a quart, mirroring declines in eggs and butter and other commodities. The 13-cent milk price had held all winter.

Mrs. George W. Enos of Wharton died last Sunday at Antonio hospital in Kenton. Born Atha May Miller in 1870 at Upper Sandusky, she was a member of the Wharton Methodist Church.
Walter O Bigham faces a third trial for the alleged wife murder in Se neca County. The date is not fixed but expected in March. A bail motion and a venue change request will be pursued.
