Catechetical class for children meets Thursdays at 4 and Saturdays at 10. Church council meets next Tuesday at 7. Mission study class meets every Tuesday during Lent.
A 10-pound son born Wednesday morning to Mr and Mrs Raymond Logsdon of Tiffin. An 11-pound son named Donald Eugene born Sunday to Mr and Mrs Ernest Dunn. A son named Ernest Junior born Sunday morning to Mr and Mrs Ernest Cornish. A 9-pound daughter Georgia Mae born February 16 to Mr and Mrs Carey Sherman of East South Street.
In Sycamore Truax Hall hosts a public sale on March 3 at 1 00 p m featuring 60 pure bred Duroc sows gilts and boars plus 40 registered and grade Delane sheep from lambs to 5 years. Among the flock are junior yearling service boars and 25 bred to 30 pound fleece, plus a 3 year old ram. TRUAX CO.
The Ladies Aid of the Methodist church hosts a bake sale Saturday February 27 starting at 10 a m at the rest room offering hot spaghetti cottage cheese pies doughnuts and other treats for sale.

Mr and Mrs Jacob Nitrauer return to Carey after eight years in Sycamore where they ran Patterson Furniture. A surprise reception at the Reformed church followed a meeting to name a new Sunday school superintendent. Mr Nitrauer received a silk umbrella as a gift.
Mrs Theodore Hargrave 29 died Saturday in Detroit. Funeral held Tuesday at Evangelical church Findlay with Rev A G Tozer of Carey officiating. She leaves husband and 16 month old son. Attending were Mr and Mrs Elza Jacobs and Mr and Mrs Rolland Jacobs, her cousins.

M Romig Hosea Tong and Charles Robison of the Ridge township board of appraisers went to Auditor Krauss in Upper Sandusky on Wednesday. They reported completion of their work of reappraisement, the first board in the county to do so.

G W Montague died Sunday evening at his South Street home from bronchial pneumonia after years of ill health. He was 69, a longtime Carey barber and a member of Masonic and Knights of Pythias lodges. Funeral services were held Wednesday at his residence with Rev. Lewis P. Speaker officiating. pallbearers included Lawrence Nachbar and several local acquaintances. He is survived by his wife Josie Sayler, daughter Zenith Kenton, brother Ellis Montague, and sister Lucinda Rogers.
Mrs Amanda Young one of Careys oldest citizens died at 6 45 AM Monday at her High street home after a long illness of age. Funeral services will be at 1 PM at the home conducted by Rev Lewis P Speaker. Burial in Dunn cemetery near McCutchenville. Born Amanda Kenan July 8 1835 she married William Young Jan 26 1856. Survived by seven children, one brother, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a Universalist.
Joseph Masgie of Fostoria received an 18 month term in the reformatory for passing a worthless check of 142 dollars to pay for a car. Charles Agar of Sandusky was sentenced to one to three years in the penitentiary for allegedly passing worthless checks in Fremont Upper Sandusky and Toledo.
The 10 year old son of Mr and Mrs Harry Bright of Vanlue died Sunday afternoon at Findlay Homeland Hospital from spinal meningitis. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the United Brethren church in Vanlue.

Dr Charles R Bowers pastor of Zion Lutheran church will conduct a week of evangelistic services at St Matthews Lutheran Charleston starting March 1 with nightly 815 pm services Then he will travel to Havana Cuba for a two Sunday leave The Charleston Courier notes the St Matthews congregation invited him after seeking the best Lutheran preacher and he accepts The Sunbury Pa paper says he comes highly recommended with a strong evangelistic record.

Levi Greene found two nearly century old Saturday Evening Post issues dated January 24, 1857 and November 5, 1859 in a Findlay home. One bundle included a tale of Australian life and notes on prison discipline, weather, and fires in Philadelphia. The 1859 issue carried Dickens tale chapter nine and discussions of John Brown and Harper's Ferry.
Mrs Sarah Jane Leedom longtime Carey resident and mother of Alma Leedom French teacher at Carey High School died after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at 7 30 p m Tuesday at the family residence in Fostoria with burial at St Paris. Mr Leedom had been ill with cancer.
The Pioneer Picnic Association will meet Saturday at 1 30 PM at the Carey Times office. Those interested should attend and bring ideas for the next picnic planned for Thursday June 10.
