Herman Schreiner 39 of 120 High street a carpenter at National Lime and Stone Co. plant was killed at 9 46 a m Sunday after falling 65 feet into the quarry pit when his glove caught on a timber. He suffered a broken neck and left leg and died instantly. He was born June 29 1898 in Huron county and lived in Carey 16 years. Survived by wife Martha Niederkohr five children and several siblings. Funeral at Our Lady of Consolation church with burial in St Marys cemetery.

Bank Moves to New Location on West Findlay Street
Bank workers began moving equipment from the Peoples Bank after closing Saturday afternoon. The bank opened Monday at 9 a.m. in the Kurtz room building on West Findlay Street. Patrol officers with submachine guns guarded the move of the strong box to the new vault. A grand opening date will be announced next week by bank officials for public inspecting the new facility.
