Edison tone test delights Catholic hall audience
The Edison tone test last Thursday at the Catholic hall drew a large audience. Glenn Ellison, bari tone, and Miss Alta Hill, pianist, performed with vivid contrast to Edison voice recreations and impressed with Ellison’s singing of Scotch ballads and Hill’s piano, solos, and accompaniment. The program, courtesy of The Ewing Drug Co, avoided jazz.

Miss Clara Payne and Orville Stroub Wed at Carey
Miss Clara Payne daughter of Mr and Mrs J N Payne of North Third street and Orville Stroub son of Mr and Mrs George Stroub of Carey were married Saturday at 4 PM at the United Brethren parsonage in Carey Rev J C Rinehart officiating. They went to the bride’s parents home for a belting and a wedding dinner followed for about 25 relatives. They will return to their positions after a short eastern trip.

New Minister Takes Charge of Crawford Circuit
S H Karns formerly a theological student at Ada has left school for a year to lead the Mc Cutchenville Adrian and Crawford Methodist circuit. He will preach at Crawford every two weeks with the next service on March 6. A fine attendance last Sunday featured a delightful solo by Dorothea Whaley.

Bell at Lutheran church falls during service
A 500 pound inch and three quarters bell broke its pin and fell 20 feet from the belfry roof onto the vestibule ceiling as W. G. Bradley rang it. The bell did not injure anyone and will be rehung with wooden supports to prevent future falls.

Ministers to attend interdenominational pastors convention
Several county churches will send ministers as delegates to a Columbus convention scheduled for March 1 2 and 3. Rev W F Martin of the Carey Methodist church expects to attend. The Ohio Federation of Churches called the event to prepare for a spring state wide evangelism campaign.

Fire at Stone Plant Causes Minor Damage
Monday night about 6 30 an alarm was sounded from the stone plant where oily waste behind the jaw crusher caught fire. A spark from a locomotive is suspected. The crusher banisters burned slightly costing a few dollars. the fire department was not needed.

Quarantine Placed on Diptheria Case at Tracy Home
Health officer W. C. Anderson ordered a quarantine Monday on the Fred Tracy residence in the old Wagner place after Vivian Simmons contracted diphtheria. The Tracy home remains under quarantine to prevent spread.

Revival Services Continue Strong as Attendance Grows
Union revival meetings at United Brethren church drew full houses with many at the altar nightly. Under captain C X Diller a personal workers league will visit homes during the day while pastors rotate sermons through the week. Special music and a union choir of about 50 supported services with attendees from other towns.
