About twenty friends gathered five miles northwest of town to cut ten cords of wood for Mr. Hotelling who has a bad case of blood poisoning on his hand. A like number of ladies attended and served a delicious dinner.

Friday evening a north bound freight blocked the Main Street crossing of the Hocking Valley for about an hour after the 5 09 train went north. A draw bridge was pulled out and two knuckles checked due to the cold weather.

In a regular session the Arlington village council authorized funds for a pair of handcuffs and a revolver for the town marshal. The council will henceforth maintain an armed neutral stance, a first for the village according to Findlay Republican.
