Carey Blue Cagers Edge St Wendelin 41 34 in Hard Fought Home Win

Carey overcame illness to defeat St Wendelin 41 to 34 on their home floor. Heck, the forward from the wast, led Carey with 17 points as the team built a lead after a close 8 8 first quarter. St Wendelin’s Woessner scored 11, while Carey aligned with fewer fouls than the visitors and improved free throw shooting this week.

Carey high school gym to host the Class B sectional basketball tourney March 2 3 4 16 and 11. Principal T E Mulholland and seven aides organize with state commissioners designating Carey as host. Mourning Pope Pius XI Across Local Catholic Fraternities

Our Lady of Consolation Church and Our Lady of Carey Seminary join in mourning Pope Pius XI. A Solemn Requiem was sung at the Shrineer on February 15 with Joseph Hero as celebrant and several Franciscans serving as deacon subdeacon and master of ceremonies. The seminary held Solemn High Mass with Basil Heiser as celebrant and a full choir.

Barber Shop Fire Correction Clarifies Ownership

The Carey Times corrects a previous report stating the barber shop on S. Vance Street belonged to John Risner. The shop's proprietor is John Risner's brother G. W. Risner, formerly of Portsmouth, with John still operating a barber shop on Dow Street.
