A Beech Grove United Brethren church delegation from the Hopewell area traveled to Hopewell near Kenton last Sunday evening to hear Evangelist Carl V. Roop preach on Excuses. The Beech Grove quartet led by Lee Wentz Howard Gobrecht Ira Wentz and C O Young performed with Miss Harles Brown as pianist. They plan to sing again next Sunday for the all day service and likely close the meeting in the evening.

Native Filipino preacher Santos speaks to multiple groups
Rev. Julian A. Santos a native Filipino preacher and Ohio Wesleyan sophomore spoke Sunday evening at the English Lutheran church to the Luther League and at 7 pm in the United Evangelical church to a large congregation. He addressed Carey high school students Monday morning and spoke to public school grades. Santos once preached in the Philippine Islands and is noted as the only ordained native Filipino preacher in the United States. He spoke fluently in English and was a guest at the United Evangelical parsonage.

Ford Coupe Stolen Then Recovered in Fostoria
A Ford coupe left in front of a Methodist church in Caray Ohio was stolen Sunday evening. A young man and woman drove it to a Fostoria filling station where the man bought liquor, then parked it across from the station. Police watched the car all night and found a doctor's name and veterinary tools in the back. Dr Hosafros and Grant Karr later claimed the vehicle, which was undamaged. There is no information on the drivers, who may have also been connected to a Buick used in Findlay and wrecked by a train.
