Carabao Use in Philippine Army Transport Compared to Mules
The Water Buffalo or carabao proves useful for army transport in the Philippines under certain conditions. Bulls are strong and can haul heavy loads across rough, wet ground, though slow and prone to fatigue without water. Drivers are often Chinese, and while tame when handled well they can be fierce when angered, with many wild herds roaming the islands.
