An 1846 Farmers and Mechanics Almanack loaned by Mrs James Briggs is a delightful keepsake. The volume, given to Mrs Briggs by neighbor Mrs Cal Trout born in 1846, features sun and moon data, tides, planetary aspects, poetry and recipes.

Sergt. James Lloyd Luce of the medical department at Camp Lee Virginia arrived Monday for a three day visit with his grandparents Mr and Mrs Larue Boucher and his mother. He has served 11 months at various camps across the United States and is in charge of eight wards and works in the office.
Mrs. C. G. Spencer and her son John traveled to San Antonio to visit J. F. Cover Jr at the Leon Springs officers training camp. They were joined by Mrs. Spencer's sister Mrs. Walter Jackson of Lima. Cover, previously at Montgomery, was reassigned when the camp opened.
A Food Administration ruling permits packing and sale of flour in one sixteenth barrel or 12 34 pound sacks. Previously not allowed, the change reinstates smaller packages to align with rules requiring equal substitution quantities.
Albert Haller Myers, longtime Carey physician and Mason, died at his West Main Street residence after a five week illness. Born July 20 1830 in Royalton Ohio, he moved to Carey as a youth, taught school, ran a singing school, and earned his medical degree in 1857 from Cleveland Medical College. He married Julia Irena Humasom in 1859, had no children but fostered a daughter Ella Dow, and served as a prominent community figure and clubman. His funeral was held at the Methodist church with DeMolay Commandery and other orders in attendance.

Wiss Pearl Young daughter of Mr and Mrs Young and Archonaldson son of Mr and Mrs Donat on were married near Manpae Moca at home Friday after a school day Romaive. The bride a senior at the local high school. They will live with the bride’s parents until spring.
The Lutheran and Methodist Sunday schools joined at the M B church for a union service Sunday morning with over 300 attendees. Visiting teachers conducted the lesson for the combined session.
The Wyandot county Federation of Churches holds its regular quarterly meeting Monday at 130 pm in the Presbyterian Church of Upper Sandusky. The program includes devotional by Rev J D Ferguson, roll call, minutes, unfinished business, treasurer report, secretary report, standing committees, and talks by Rev J L Hyde, Rev S Wert, Rev James W Gibson, Rev S Flanders, and Rev O D Wonder on topics from Buffalo to Denver and St Louis.
A patriotic service will be held Sunday morning at 10 15 o clock with a sermon by the pastor. Music and hymns will be provided by the choir and congregation, readings and recitations included. a service flag will honor 12 members in service.
Report states Thursday SB Cheselrough was near West Main Street when a man struck him in the right eye with a brick, ending in head injury and damage to the eyeball. The assailant is identified as Mir Schmiditz. Cheselrough had bent to remove bricks when the attack occurred.
