S and art offered resignation as village clerk and head of Water Works and Electric department. The council accepted. Loren Stahl, appointed by A H Kennerly, will fill the vacancy starting March 1 after Hart’s departure for private business reasons. Council vote was four to two.

Cemetery trustees decide to erect a steel post and wire fence around Lutheran Ridge Cemetery. Contributions from interested parties are invited at Carey post office or through Levi Hile, trustee, to support the project.
A J King on Monday accepted a position on the Big Four as foreman of the bridge carpenters. The post has been temporarily filled since Nelson Turnbell resigned last fall. Nicholas Leipold has accepted a position as carpenter on the road.

The funeral was held at the Woodworth home Friday forenoon with many friends in attendance. Rev. R S Bowers officiated, reading Romans and delivering a fitting sermon. A quartet sang. I O O F members conducted the funeral rites and Findlay lodge officials read burial ritual. Interment was in Spring Grove cemetery.
Tuesday morning brakeman J Cornin on freight train No 97 was pinched between cars and engine while coupling at five o clock. He was unconscious until eight, internal injuries suspected, no bone damage. He was moved to Columbus hospital by train No 32 with Dr Brayton attending.
Regular preaching services will be held next Sunday morning after Sunday school. The second quarterly conference meets Thursday at 1 30 p m led by Presiding Elder Rev W Roberts of Lima. He arrives Monday and stays until Friday morning. All are invited to attend these meetings. J H Wrichass, Pastor.
Last Saturday near the Northern Ohio crossing on Springville road Henry Faul was thrown from his buggy when his horse frightened by a westbound freight locomotive toppled both buggies. Ernest Smith crossed ahead. Faul’s arm was broken and wrist dislocated. Dr Zeis reduced the fracture and horse later ran loose.
