Found Family Stranded in Snow Assisted by motorists
Robert Hunter of Old State Road and friend Jack Murray of Marion found a family stranded four hours after leaving the road in Ansted West Virginia. Snow was about 10 inches deep and vehicles were off the road. They gave shelter to the couple and their child in a nearby town before Hunter returned to Marion.

Local Girls Compete in Diocesan Spelling Bee
Sunday afternoon several girls from area Catholic Youth Organization units participated in the C Y O Diocesan Spelling Bee held in Toledo. They were entered in competition with 46 other young people from parishes in the Diocese. Jeannette Goshe from St. Nicholas Frenchtown marked success until the 21st round and was 11th highest. Other participants included Juanita Logsdon and Janice Logsdon from Our Lady of Consolation parish and Irene Wank from St. Boniface parish New Riegel.
