John Boice Dead

John Boice dies after two year illness of dropsy and cancer at fifty. Funeral held in Steubenville attended by his daughters Mrs. John Puchta Mrs. Alice Alspach and Mrs. Harry Niederkor plus two sons Charles and John. another daughter also named Roice. Services largely attended at his mother’s home after his conversion before death.

A Thursday Crawford school event raised 58 dollars for the Pioneer Picnic Association treasury. Mrs Brayton Davis and committee organized the box social with judges Mrs Will Karr Miss Dorothy Whaley Miss Edith Karr awarding prizes to top decorated boxes. An auction by Mr Mark Karr and quartet from Four Corners preceded by Edith Narr remarks highlighted the evening.

Poverty Run Women Organize Social Club

Members of Poverty Run school district met at Mrs. I. R. Eyestone’s home to form Poverty Run Social Club. Officers chosen include President Mrs. Charley Wenner Vice-president Mrs. May Winney treasurer Mrs. James Weeds and secretary Mrs J. R. Eyestone Lunch followed the session and next meeting is set for the second Thursday in March at Mrs Lewis Reis’s home. All ladies unable to attend are invited to join at that time.

Death of M A Jackson in Lockwood California

Mrs J G Harshbarger received word of the instant death of M A Jackson of Lockwood California on Saturday morning February 6. Jackson, a rancher, was thrown from his wagon onto his head. Funeral services were held last Monday. Mrs Jackson, formerly Miss Ida Van Buren of this city.

Pastor Luther Spaid Chosen to Deliver Seminary Sermon
