Farmers May Appeal Corn Acreage Allotments
Wyandot County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation committee vice president Fred W. Moser announced that 1955 corn acreage allotments would be mailed to Wyandot county farmers starting about February 14. Farmers may appeal within 15 days after notices are mailed. The 1955 corn allotment is 456 acres, up from 41,794 acres in 1954, an overall increase in national acreage. Those staying within their farm allotments remain eligible for price supports if grain meets grade and moisture standards and is stored in approved facilities. similar eligibility applies for Conservation practice payments.

Lost Red Cocker Spaniel Returns Home After Six Day Absence
Cindy the three year old red cocker spaniel owned by John Boyce south of Carey returned Wednesday after six days missing. Starvation nearly killed her with mud crusted hair and a gangrenous left fore paw. veterinarian amputated four toes. Boyce had advertised for the pet last week.

Death Claims Former Kirby Area Resident Matilda Babcock
Funeral services were held in Toledo for Matilda Oelberg Babcock 78 who died Sunday morning after a five month illness. Born on a Kirby area farm she married Frank Babcock in 1896 who preceded her in death. Surviving are a son a daughter a brother and three sisters: Philip Oelberg Mrs John Thiel Mrs Peter Thiel Mrs Walter Marshall.

Carey Jaycees sent 14 members to District 1 Jaycee conference in Findlay at the Elks Home. Charles W. The Carey Community Chest 1954 contributions totaled 2591.26, 518.74 below the 3110 goal. The board met February 8 in the Municipal building and voted to drop USO as a beneficiary and remove the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis next year.
