The Motorists Mutual Insurance Chorus presents Through the Years at Community Institute in Carey High School Auditorium tonight at 8. Afternoon and evening sessions include a talk by Rev. Philip Shober, music by the high school, a playlet, door prizes, and a Fine Arts Award. The chorus, directed by Foster McElfresh, is made up of Motorists Mutual employees and performs a lively program with dancers, cheerleaders, and a full cast.

Catholic Scouts Attend Communion Breakfast at Shrine
About 100 Cub and Boy Scouts of Troop 51 with fathers joined a communion service at the Shrine and a breakfast at the school cafe. Speakers included Rev. Theodore Eickholtz and Rev. Benjamin Knopp, with G. C. Weldon of Marion addressing. Dr Gray of Prospect showed Niagara Jamboree slides. Sixty-two Bucyrus residents toured Carey Shrine grounds that afternoon. Eleven Cub Scouts earned Bob Cat, five Scouts tenderfoot, one second class, one first class. Three Cub Scouts won Purval Det awards: David Menningen, Michael Hilty, Robert Welsh.

Harvey Sopher an 18 year old employee of Porcelain Products Inc was shot in the left thigh by a .22 rifle he believed unloaded. The shell penetrated the front seat struck him as he removed the gun from his car at the Crawford township dump. He received treatment, bone undamaged, and is recovering at home.

Four Break-ins Hit Vanlue Monday Night
Burglars struck Vanlue Monday night at four locations the Shaffer Elevator Vanlue Grain and Supply Co Vanlue School and Risner’s Service Station. A Jay Risner garage car was stolen but found in Willard Tuesday. Damages ranged 25 to 75 dollars, no items taken. Sheriff Carson Davis reported gaps at Risner’s garage doors and keys left in the car. Two other cars nearby with keys remained untouched.

During Tuesday night last week the sewerage lift station pump failed in the Municipal building basement, flooding the space with five feet of sewerage and knocking out the automatic gas furnace.
