Peddler Arrested for Unlicensed Meat Sale in Republic

A Republic man was arrested Thursday afternoon by Police man Greer for peddling meat without a license from the mayor. Mayor Mullholland fined him three dollars and costs. The arrestee visited a local meat dealer’s residence, triggering a swift notice to authorities. Citizens urged to report unlicensed peddlers.

Last Friday Carey Hi played in a Tiffin tournament. Pemberville beat Carey 24 to 3 while Liberty Center defeated Carey 16 to 14. George Gardner Roscoe Len ner attended. Lutheran Church Sermon Draws Large Springfield Audience

Luther Church services in Springfield featured a fine sermon by L. E. Snyder from the Sun-Next Sun Edward Capewell will preach. Capewell previously preached here and was well liked. Luther League met Tuesday evening in Sunday school rooms with many present and a good time reported.

Annual Banquet for Firemen Draws Loyal Crowd at Moose Hall

The firemen held their annual banquet at Moose Hall on Tuesday evening with a large turnout. J A Stombaugh led the arrangements assisted by D J Humpert and Frank Mangett Chief Wonder Winde. The hall featured Valentine decorations as Miss Mildred Mann Esther Pontius played piano and Clyde Baker recited a patriotic piece. An orchestra led by Roger Lindsay provided music while Stombaugh youngsters sang and a peanut race led to a Brand march. Guests enjoyed a singable table, dancing followed with Marshal C M Brown directing quadrilles. The firemen thank all volunteers and L O O M for hall use.

Bier to move to Vanlue as elevator manager
