Sunday morning Dr. C. C. Peale will preach as district superintendent and a quarterly conference session follows. Sunday night the pastor will preach. Other services proceed as usual. Preparations are under way for special meetings preceding Easter.
C. V. Truax director of agriculture for the state will address the Kiwanis Club on Monday March 5. The event will cover agricultural topics and state plans.
The pest campaign under the agricultural class of the high school closes today. The east side led in points, but both sides stay close, making final results hard to gauge.
Citizens must display 1922 license tags today as the final deadline passes. The notice warns against using 1923 tags before the effective date and emphasizes compliance.
The Lutheran church hosts midweek Lenten talks on The Way of Salvation in the Sunday school room with opportunities for questions. Sunday morning sermons cover the Gospel and evening lessons discuss church membership. aspiring members are urged to attend ahead of Easter.

Mr and Mrs R E Neu depart Tuesday for Springfield due to the sudden death of Mrs R E Newton caused by acute indigestion. Ollie Neu travels to Springfield to attend the funeral today.
Prof Miller will lead a culling demonstration at the high school Tuesday evening at 7 15 PM. The event is well attended and promises practical insight into poultry management.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the parlors of the Galt House for C C Kisselle a Findlay tack proprietor who died the previous Wednesday. The Kiwanis quartet sang as Kisselle had been a member. Elks conducted rituals and eulogies were given by Pearl McKay and Wim Fenstermaker. Interment was in Spring Grove cemetery. He is survived by his wife three children and a sister.
The Carey Kiwanis Club adopts resolutions honoring Charles C. Kisselle a loyal Kiwanian and family man. The club expresses sympathy to his bereaved family and pledges to keep his memory in their records and hearts as a model of steadfastness and honesty.
Carey club members joined Findlay Kiwanis at the Elks club for a Ladies Night with speakers including Arthur McArthur of Traverse City who discussed James Whitcomb Riley and read poems. McArthur will speak in Carey on March 5. Betty Piner of Findlay performed Scotch songs and dances, and the Carey Kiwanis quartet sang.
Carey Mill and Elevator Co stored 102 wagon loads of 6 inch ice at the fish pond in the southwest town area last week. This week two car loads of 5 inch ice arrived from Sandusky City. Prices are slightly higher than last year unless cold weather improves, potentially shortening supply.
Fev Lewis P Speaker has returned from a several day visit at Springfield, as reported in local notes.
A Kiwanis luncheon featured Rev. J. J. Mc Cabe of Delaware delivering an engaging talk on Abraham Lincoln. D. C. Henry won the daily prize. The club plans Farmers' Night with speaker Mr. Truax and hints at a Ladies' Night.
January births include a daughter to John Wenzinger on the 4th and a son to Lester M. Herbert on the 7th. Other births: Albert Roszman on the 8th a son. Leon Mullholand on the 8th a daughter. Alfred Pieraccini on the 20th a son. Walter Dible on the 20th a daughter. Carl Williams on the 26th a son. Cyril Simonis on the 27th a daughter. Deaths listed include Mary Catherine Jowes on January 3, W. A. Perkins on January 9, John Greek on January 13, and Howard Shull on January 21.
Rev. W. F. Martin assisted in the Flower Hospital campaign visiting Upper Sandusky Crawford neighborhood Wharton Harpster and Mt. Blanchard. The effort ends in the Carey group of churches with considerable success reported.
The Jennie Larmonth Society of the Lutheran church schedules a Monday evening meeting on February 19 at the home of Mrs Russell Gottfried. Hosts include Mrs Walter Gottfried. Attendees are asked to meet at the parsonage at 7 o'clock and proceed together by foot and auto.
The West Section of the Home Missionary Society of the Methodist church held a tea at Mrs. Wesley Patterson’s home after the regular lesson study. Mrs. David Heck led devotions, Mrs. S. R. Bame directed enigmas, and several members performed songs and readings. Light refreshments followed with Mrs. Loy at the piano.
On Wednesday February 21 a Sandusky conference charge meeting will be held at the United Brethren church. It runs all day with sessions at 10 o clock and 1 15 p m. J F Miller of Fostoria leads the Fos toria district and will preside. Eight pastors from Carey and nearby charges will appear on the program.
Howard Lee recovers enough to sit up after a severe blood poisoning attack from a finger scratch while butchering. His wife Mrs Lee has been bedridden a week with acute inflammatory rheumatism. Mrs Jess Lee, his mother from west of town, cares for them.
The Crawford-Ridge farm bureau meets this evening at 7 o clock in the library. The program includes chicken raising and feeding, boys and girls clubs, a report on the Columbus state farm bureau meeting, and a fireless cooker demonstration.
A woman subscribed to the Carey Times to read want ads fresh from the press. Her son missed a bargain after not hearing of a previous offer in the want column. The want ads may help you too.
On Tuesday February 20 a lecture will be given at Catholic Hall by Prof Haggerty of Ohio State University on social questions. The talk is under the auspices of the National Catholic Welfare Council. There is no charge and the public is invited.
Report says the Big Four will run gasoline cars from Sandusky to Findlay and they are already in use on the Delaware division. If adopted, passenger service on the road should improve significantly.
Local Knights and their families will gather at the hall Tuesday evening to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Knights of Pythias. Attendance is urged for all members.
Fred Dible purchases 47 acre farm west of town once owned by the late Anna Ranger. BOb Hudson rents the farm and will occupy it for the coming season.
Minnie J. Criger of Biglick township sues Edward T. Criger for divorce alimony and custody of an adopted child. The action is filed in the Fostoria Review.
